My suggestion to help this from reoccurring would be to take breaks in between runs and watch your temperatures. This is the first time for it to occur on me with 23,000 miles on the motor and after 7 hard runs down the track.
My car did smell of a burnt clutch for the remainder of the night but is driving well still after it cooled down. Its a shame we have to to encounter these things though.
Now the question is when and where it will occur again. Hmm just time for another upgrade lol
get the new designed gm pressure plate. I had mine stick numerous times with only 4000 miles on it. After the plate ive had no more issues which clutch sticking or smell!!!!!
Since the new throw out bearing was made by gm i made an appt to bring my car into the dealer monday. It has a longer throw which allows the clutch to fully disengage. Its causing hard shifting at high rpms and the synchros in the tranny to slowly get worn out! Mine has been getting notchy more and more as days go on. even sitting at a redlight and playing with the shifter 2nd gear is not smooth! I talked to a service manager down here and he explained it all to me about how it works and that he will fix me right up! I have a friend with a new camaro with 1200 miles on it and its already getting hard to shift after 5700 rpms. hes never even taken his car to the track or drag raced anyone and its already causing problems. My cluctch also engages at different spots depending on the day. its sometimes halfway up and sometimes at the top of release. I cant wait for monday to come so i can drop it off and get the final revised piece to my clutch!

TO ALL WITH CLUTCH PROBLEMS get the new pressure plate and throw out bearing! GM came out with a bulletin about it for a reason so our car has a problem and they know about it.

I am just curious what cars are effected here. I have owned my car since October 09 and I have launched it a couple times with out problems. I was actually quite impressed with the response! The 5th gens, i was told, come with a Z06 clutch? Was i falsely informed? Also, I am able to chirp third with TC and Stabilitrac turned off on the highway...

Im guessing the people that are launching their cars ALOT, (People drag racing and what have you) are having the problem? Am I just lucky it didn't happen..yet? Should i be worried? You guys are freaking me out!! hahahaha

Should i seriously take my car to the dealer and just claim that the problem happened and have them swap the new pressure plate, before Im stuck on the side of 95 looking like a fool in the scorching summer heat?

Is there a TSB on this? I saw one that says that it is a user error and nothing to do with the car. Service Manager says he cannot replicate it so they won't do anything with the car.

I too would like to know if there is an official TSB and what VIN range/MY it affects. If there is a newer 'kit', is it being used to build all of the 2011s that are in production (e.g. mine )?

Just to let you guys know my V6 has the same issue as your V8's, I went to a track day and in the 2nd session I was shifting hard from 2nd to third and the clutch peddle went right to the floor. They thought it was the master, but the GM tech said to replace everything, disk, pressure plate, master and slave.

Well i had the clutch disk, pressure plate, and slave all replaced. Along with having the transmission tore down and inspected for wear from the grinding. Trans is now back to new condition and since the clutch job the car has never felt better to drive. It has a consistant engagement point every time and actually feels like a clutch should feel. So far so good! If anything should come up i'll post, but i dont think there will be anything to post after haveing this done. I recommend if anyone has any kind of problem that they go to their dealer and have this done.

Even after just a few weeks it seems like the clutch fully engages near the top of the pedal and when I first got it it did seem closer to the floor... maybe just the temperament of a brand new clutch though The car has about 480 miles on it right now... no burn outs or hard launches with it so far.. chirped 2nd a few times but nothing too serious
There seems to be no certain run of production numbers this applies to. It all seem really random as far as the car goes and how it is driven. Myself I haven't had any issues as of yet and just turned 5k miles on the car. I don't do hard launches, but accelerate hard power shifting and chirping 2nd and 3rd ... I wish they would just do a recall and fix them all ...

Already had my pressure plate changed and I just got my car back from the dealer with my new slave cylinder and throw out bearing. The car feels awesome now!!! I can shift at high rpms into 2nd and 3rd now! Also the car doesnt jerk as much when shifting normally and disengaging the clutch. It is very consistent and smooth now! the part number for the slave is 19210297

All this issues with the clutch makes me wary...is it not a good idea then to learn to drive manual on a Camaro?

I believe its water under the bridge as the newer camaros have the upgraded parts. As far as learning to drive a with a manual, a small car works out better just till you get the hang of it. Then go with your hearts desires.

So after break-in I have put the new clutch/PP through it's paces. I really slipped the clutch and it stuck. Now I may have over slipped it but none the less it still stuck to the floor and I couldn't shift directly to 2nd. The clutch smelled bad for a while afterwords. This was about 2 weeks ago. Last weekend I was launching the car again and nailed a perfect launch with no sticking what so ever. Playing around for a few launches netted no sticking pedal. I don't know what to make of this but that's what happened. I'll have a better assessment when I hit the track.

500 miles later, I tried a semi agressive launch, traction and stability control off, made me sick.... Clutch petal stuck

Nooooooooo!
I was hoping this revision would be the fix. Only have a couple hundred miles on the new set up and won't get to drive it again for a few months. Now I gotta worry about it until then!
