for me, the drive there was just as exciting. Huge caravans of Camaros rolling down the interstate was pretty cool to be part of.

What about creating a Poll? This way you will gather info that would be helpful in planning the location of the 2nd annual meet.

I want to respond to what I feel are some very inaccurate statements in your post. Did you even look at the link for the Heartland Park in Topeka?

You state that having the gathering in this spot would make it inconvenient for everyone. I don't think the people traveling from Canada or the northern states or those to the west would agree with you.

As far as infrastructure goes, you are wrong. Topeka Kansas has a population of approximately 171,000 versus the population of Valdosta Georgia which is about 50,000. Valdosta did just fine accommodating us, and Topeka would too. In fact, there are seven hotels in the area nearby the track, and an International airport (Kansas City International Airport) within 60 miles.

Please take a look at Heartland's website before so quickly jumping to conclusions. It's a state of the art facility, they host national NHRA events and they can easily host C5Fest.

Hotels around the park:

Again, I don't care where the next fest is located, I will travel to it regardless. Just didn't want a bunch of inaccurate statements being made about the location is all.
Wel said.

OK, here is some info for Nashville:

Gaylord Center (I have stayed here, it is massive!) - http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylord-opryland/

Speedway - http://www.nashvillesuperspeedway.com/

Dragstrip - http://www.musiccityraceway.com/index.html

Hockey - http://predators.nhl.com/

Music - http://www.nashvillescene.com/

Downtown - http://www.nashvilledowntown.com/

Great location, great time of year, just my two cents.

Would it cost more to rent multiple facilities versus just one that had all the tracks/courses that we are looking for?

Hey guys just remember one thing, alot of tracks will not treat you as well as SGMP did reading from all your comments. I didn't make the C5 Fest due to my work schedule but I know these guys personally and I always get the red carpet treatment. Trust me I race all over the eastern US and a lot of tracks act like they could care less if you were there, even events with much higher priced entry fees. Some tracks don't even treat you as if your are the CUSTOMER.

I think that part is what I feel I missed out on the most. Also meeting you guys from this forum would have been a bonus as well.

This is a huge discriminator. Where ever we go has to have room for everything in one facility. Drag strip, autox/road course, parking/pits/camping, sponors space close to the events.

I don't see us spreading it out over multiple facilities even if they are close.

For what it's worth, distance to Topeka:

LA is 1500 miles
NY is 1200 miles
Seattle is 1800 miles
Oshawa is 1100 miles
Miami is 1500 miles
Chicago is 600 miles

Our group from Chicago went about 1000 miles to Valdosta and it was worth every bit of it and there were others that went much further. As it was stated earlier, the trip in the caravan was half the fun. Just saying.
