I am too lazy to read all 101 pages but does this apply to the 2013 V-6(LFX) as well?

This is for V8 only.

I taught my Grandson the old "pull my finger....er...fuse" trick on his 2SS Camaro also.

Okay looked at most of this thread. When resetting the octane tables is it just the two fuses 5&20 or is there more to it because I read that there is no power to those fuses with the ignition off.

I posted in another fuse pull thread last week, that disappeared when the site went down, that I had just pulled my fuses YET AGAIN.
Boom goes the dynamite!
It got me thinking though.
Something is CLEARLY forcing my car back into the low octane table over, and over, and over, and over again.

All gas now is pumped through one hose at the stations.
I wonder if it is possible that if I am only putting 4-5 gallons in at a time, that residual 87 in the hose or pumping mechanism is somehow contaminating the premium fuel I am buying just enough to screw it up?

My car is a ****ing BEAST again.

I heard that a lot of city/stop and go driving will slowly retard it. I just pulled mine again, and BAM! I pull them every couple months.

But to answer your question... no once you do it as long as you never put anything but 93 in again you should be good to go!

Not always the case. In almost every tune I've seen, there is still a low octane timing map. The only way to assure that it will never revert back to the low octane timing map is to copy the high octane map into the low octane map. Then and only then, can you actually "never look back".

Here's another example I've seen... some cars I've seen have VERY sensitive knock sensors. The knock senor is what will throw the car back to the low octane timing map. The fuse pull is a good fix - I did it too back when I first got the car. However, the best way to permanently fix this issue and never see it again is to copy the high octane timing map values (ctrl+a, then ctrl+c) and paste them into the low octane map (ctrl+a, then ctrl+v). It's incredibly easy to do, and anyone that has ever used and is comfortable with Excel spreadsheets can easily do this with HP Tuners.
