Got this from a guy I work with that works at SIR:

Gents,

Just called the track and verified that the Test N Tune scheduled for this Friday has been cancelled. The website shows the new schedule.

They will have a TNT portion on Saturday night but they’ll be sharing the track with the Rislone Quick 32 Series event. It’s for 12.99 and quicker cars.

The next TNT night on the schedule is set for next Friday, 8 Apr with gates opening @ 1800

I'm really confused on the track status now. Did another group take control of the track? Or are they under the old management again?

I was just on the site, and the info is spotty at best. I have no clue to what's going on there.

I know that at the beginning of the year, they switched from NHRA to IHRA but were still under the same managment. Just seems like they have gotten very flackey to say the least.

I was talking with a local car builder, and it took SIR a long time to get the NHRA cert. and now that they switch to IHRA, he's not sure if he'll run his new 8 second car there. He basicly said there is no reason to now. NHRA just isn't given out like candy...Who knows. I just go there for test and tunes. I'm no pro racer in any way.

No I work right near the Flightline at the end of Ironwood. I always park at the first spot once Ironwood turns into a parking lot. And if you follow through the lot to the other side of the building, you will see an IOM that belongs to a co-worker.

We did meet at the show and it was good talking to you.

The Dragstrip is going through yet, another change. The gentleman that took over at the beginning of the year was let go last week and the old owners took it back over. As an employee of the track, I will share in your frustration. Give them some time to get things ironed out again and keep checking the schedule online. I plan to start working the evening shifts out there as they become available. Have fun guys (gals)!

The question I would like to have answered is, are they going to retain their NHRA status...mmmmmmm

I'm not sure if they're going back to NHRA status anytime soon. In an email that I received a couple of days ago, everything was remaining as it was since the beginning of the year, aside from some of the cancelled events. I'm not sure why some of the events were cancelled, whether it was lack of interest or just because. If I hear anything different, I'll let you all know ASAP.

After having talking to a friend of mine out there who is a member of team SIR, the racers were asked to vote on wether or not they wanted to stay with NHRA or go to IHRA. The vote was overwhelming in favor of going to IHRA because of less cost involved for the racer and a far greater payout for the racer. I really don't think there is a possibility of them going back to NHRA. However, stranger things have been known to happen. I just wish they would get their schedule straightened out so we know what is happening and when.
