Yes thanks, it is going to be a doozy this time, and only a cat 1 they are saying. Right now it is still a tropical storm. The airports are closing, and all the schools and other places. It is expected to make landfall tonight/ early tomorrow morning around Stuart/Jupiter area. Then go right across Florida and come out in the gulf around Tampa St Pete, then curve back into Fl at the panhandle and go up through Ga and the Carolinas!! Dang man.. Good luck and be safe if you get to come.

Jeez, as you know, Josie and I are thinking of moving down there(especially after last night) but she says the only thing that scare her are the hurricanes. I still work the money angle on her and end up winning. Listen, good luck, I'll pray for you and Ruby and let me know if you need anything.

I am getting tired of this lol. I am actually more concerned about this storm because it is so much sloppier than the last one. The wind field is enormous, albeit substantially weaker. Ian passed 2 hours south of me and all we got really was some wind and rain, nothing too bad luckily. These weaker storms tend to spawn a lot of tornadoes, so hopefully things don't get too bad.

Had to take the driveway canopy down AGAIN, because of this stupid hurricane. Moved the Camaro to the inlaws again as well. I am on the west coast, but the center of the storm is supposed to pass right over my county (Hernando). It will be much weaker by then, but I am not playing with the giant trees over my driveway.

Best of luck to you brother, and all of you east coast/central FL guys!

I live an hour South of Tampa and a friend is near Fort Lauderdale on
the East coast. We both has some wind and rain overnight, that's it.
Florida recently went 11 years between hurricanes. Many neighbors
here in my 5 year old Lakewood Ranch community immediately ran
out and installed generators. They haven't used them even once.
A thousand people are moving here every day because it's a great
place to live.

Thanks Joe. Yea, I have lived here for 54 years and have been through MANY hurricanes, and they never get any easier to deal with! Stress at it's best!! lol. When my family decided to move here and retire, my dad was tired of the cold weather, the snow and the shoveling of said snow, which I did the most of. He decided that here, right in the middle on the coast was best for us. With hurricanes at least you know what's coming, tornado's not so much, they just "pop up". At least with a hurricane you can, if you want to run away from it. That being said, living here has more advantages than disadvantages, especially when the weather is always nice!!

Yea our weather channel even said last night that THIS storm was going to be a "bitch" for the coastal areas because of it being so disorganized and spread out, with the wind field stretching out 485 miles from the center. It didn't have time to "get it together" so to speak, otherwise we all would have been in real trouble. But it did enough damage as it was. No more please for a long time!!
