That's hard for me to do. 1)I rarely have a full day without something I have to do 2)I don't have a garage or access to my own hose, so many steps in shade etc are very difficult.

Rogue, that's why I'd try Meguiar's products. They're not as involved as Zaino. If I ever wanted to get that serious about it I'd take it to professional to wax and buff. In my opinion Zaino is overkill.
My black HHR SS I waxed with Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0 last fall and the results were impressive.

I have been using Adams product and am impressed with their product. We sell it where I work.
You can check out the Adams Car Care Line here: http://www.adamspolishes.com/ For a final shine I use Lucas "Slikmist" with a microfiber towel.

There are real Chamois at Pep Boys Lightning, just got one there.
I actually had to wash her today, I haven't driven anywhere in the past two days, but I had to go out today....and the dirt was killing me, so she's clean. Not a detailed job, but a good job.....the detailed will have to wait till Tuesday or Wednesday when we're not supposed to get more rain.

Well well welll... I just got my "Purchase and Delivery Satisfaction Survey" from Chevrolet. My dealer's been calling me repeatedly the last few weeks wanting to make sure I would give a "Completely Satisfied." I just said yeah yeah no problem, but honestly, I think my salesman was kind of a weasel. I love the %$&@ out of the car, but I want some payback on the poor service, and lack of info on the ordering process

Chevrolet doesn't recommend that you change out your rear diff fluid until 50k miles under normal driving conditions.

Besides the fact that my car washing routine is ridiculous. Nothing short of a spectator sport... here's what I researched:
I called about 5 different body shops and custom shops. I heard Maguiars, Liquid Glass...etc. One individual told me about Dri-wash (not petroleum based like all the others). He owns a body shop and uses it on all the cars. I ordered it and then chickened out to use it on the Camaro (It took hyperventilation and reassurance just to get me to wash my car for the first time). We did use it on my black Tahoe, my husband's Avalanche, and the boat (As soon as my biker uncle brings his Harley down, I'll talk him into trying it. If it works, and I live, then we'll all know it's a good product). It really is pretty cool. It says you can use it without water, but now way in Hell would I do that. I have plenty if you (Rogue) would like to be the guinea pig. It also supposedly positively or negatively charges so as to repel dust. Other than that, my routine is the car wash down the street. I usually just use the spot free rinse, as the car is never really "dirty." The car wash I go to has a hand held dryer that is awesome for the places where water collects. You know, when you drive away and then find the streaks down the car from the secret water sources? Then I have a compressor in the garage. I blow the car off with every time I get home. SSOOCH (Car Wash God of the Universe) turned me on to the chamois. The micro fiber towels were leaving little fuzzies on the paint. You couldn't see it unless you were in the sun, but I have some OCD tendencies. Used the Chamois last week and I really liked it. A friend of mine (who is way more OCD than me) used the clay bar thing. He said the car turned out great, but it was a huge pain, and not a one day project. At this point, he'd just use it to brighten things up if necessary, but not as a routine thing. As into our cars as we are, we ALL pale by comparison as to how clean he keeps is Hummer. |
