I wont lie, I am not a Chevy or "looks person." While I like the leather interior and sporty look of the Camaro, my biggest concern when I bought it was getting the most performance and performance potential for my money that I could. Whats under the hood is by far the most important thing to me. The car design is cool, but frankly far from the most important thing.

That being said, had I waited a year, I woulda bought a 2011 Mustang. She's gonna be a bad car--less weight, nearly equal power, and the aftermarket for the new 5.0 is bound to be sick.

But there'll always be something bigger and better out there--the key for me is to keep modding my car, make it unique and mine, and focus the performance on something that blows any stocker away and is something I can be proud of.

It is kinda ridiculous how nervous people are getting with the 5.0's potential, though. I had kinda hoped there were less fanboys on this forum than there seems to be. Its a great muscle car, and Im just happy to be a part of the reborn pony wars, however long they last.

Also I'd say they need to pull the fuses in that Camaro.

I'll wait for the real reviews.

Oh, and, where did a bunch of guys get a 2011 Mustang to play with?

from the back for sure. To much missing in that video to have it mean anything. The first race the stang guy had a 1 second jump on the dude. no way you gonna make that up with a stock ss.

I don't get the argument between the two. Who cares if one is better suspension than the other? If one is better with power? Better with acceleration? Price? Whatever.

MOD, MOD, MOD....................

Most will be changed anyway. I PROMISE you. The 2011 Mustang (stock) won't touch my car after mods. And they are coming.

I don't think the aftermarket is going to be as big for the Mustang as it will be for the Camaro. It already has shorty style headers, so the next step is long tubes. CAI. Supercharger. That's about it. Not many people change cams/heads on these cars, and from what I have read the bore spacing is so close on this new block that boring it out is impossible without pressing in new cylinder liners. I have no clue if it will be possible to increase the stroke on these motors, so that might still be an option. But I'm going to guess as far as the performance aftermarket, LT's, CAI, and superchargers will be it for these motors. I still wish GM would make a DOHC DI 6.2L to replace the LS3. I mean, if the 5.0 is making 415hp, a 6.2 would make like... one bajillion.

Does the driver have no legs and is blind? I think my 5 year old cousin could drive the SS better than him.

Here you go.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...est/index.html

Couple of quotes:

"To answer the million-dollar question: Yes, it's quicker than both the 426-horsepower Chevy Camaro SS (4.5, 12.9 at 110.7) and the 425-horse Dodge Challenger SRT-8 (4.6, 13.1 at 108.4)."

and

"In terms of handling, the same can be said of the GT. Both its lateral acceleration (0.94 g) and figure-eight time (25.3 seconds at 0.75 g) are superior to those of the our best SS (0.90, 25.8 at 0.80) and SRT-8 (0.87, 26.74 at 0.679)."

No one is disagreeing that the GT isn't fast. It's just not that fast. I don't think it'll take the SS.

Anyway, about time y'all got a mustang that could compete with maros. Must be something special to finally be able to beat a cama.... oh wait.... That's an 2011 and we have 2010... Oh no, new suspension and better gearing on the 2011 Camaro? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Well doesn't that just suck.... Mustangs are going to lose again :( Damn. Well maybe if you race the 99 maros with your new GT you might be able to finally beat a maro

The 2011 Mustang GT is a bad car that is for sure. I just cannot get over the fact that the rear end is SO ugly. When I see a 2010 Mustang coming in the opposite lane I think, "Boy that looks good." Then I watch it pass and I see the rear, and it's just plain UGLY.

I'll keep my beautiful Camaro and mod it a little to make sure I don't get messed with on the highways.

Not sure if I understand completely. Wouldn't the gear ratio only be a benefit at the starting line if you were running drag slicks? The SS has enough torque to spin the stock Pirelli's through 2nd gear and the HP/gears to dominate the top of the track. With 373's you may be into another shift by the finish line.

Maybe the Ford has more tire or better weight transfer along with being lighter.

Yes..its obviously a staged event because driver error cant happen at all. The second was obviously still staged despite the Camaro leaving right on time.

Obviously staged, everyone knows Camaro's cant lose to Mustangs.

This total destruction looks like an 87 Bronco vs Ferrari Enzo.

Obviously staged- the Camaro is taking off like Miss Daisy is in the back seat.
