Oh I'm sooo familiar.
My '85, you need a special tool to access those bolts down inside the steering column. Sadly the tool is usually Chinese junk and stripped darn near immediately. I got it most of the way put back together, just enough to get it to the local garage two blocks away and he happens to be a Chevy guy at heart.

Actually walked and and handed him the keys and the steering wheel!

Started the process of fitting the ls7 fuel rail covers out of a z28 on my L99, I'm about 80% of the way there, need to order some bits and bobs then make a few cuts, hoping to get it figured out within the next week or two.

The mess there will be so big that you can't imagine it!
At the end of next month we have a small job waiting for us where the car will never be the same as it is now

It will be much better!

Here, let me take it anywhere for service.
The first sentence - and at the same time the last one would be...
"What the **** is that..?" This is not what we do.

What you don't make yourself, you don't have.

I didn't really research what tools I would need.
I just took it apart and when it became clear that I needed some kind of assembly tool, I ran to the workshop and made it out of junk.
