Is it recommended to use an electric buffer???? I've used it before and it seems okay. I just don't want to ruin the paint. I've read other forums with Zaino and endless waxing procedures, but I think maguires works fine. Just curious about the buffer. Any help on this?

And Dawn. Does that have grit in it? Would it scratch clear coat?

(One of these days, I'm going to sit down and show how all of the remarks about Zaino being so involved/time consuming isn't really true. )

Sorry garcmol, that wasn't directed at you.

As for the buffer; I got one over the summer, and used it for the first time yesterday. Its a random-orbital buffer, which is what you want. Its very, very difficult to harm the paint using this type. I used it with Meguires on my sisters Mustang, and it turned out great.

As for Dawn, it does not have any grit. It will not scratch the clear coat. You want to make sure you rinse your car well prior to washing, as well as making sure to use a clean wash mitt.

Please let me know if I can be of further help.

Ed

I have the random-orbital buffer and just wanted to make sure. Will try the Dawn.

It's not the time for Zaino, it was just so many opinions I've read on different waxes and procedures was overwhelming. Thanks for your help.

I for one love spending time with my favorite Camaro

The Zaino thing was intimidating to me at first and really is the simplest thing to do! and once you get that look; ooooooh that look once you just get done with her and the shine hurts your eyes? well nothing but Zaino will be good enough ever again.

(not that you cant get the look from other products just easier for me with the Z)

Seeing you SS compared to a similair one at a recent show, it was as clear as night and day the difference Zaino made.

Once you get a machine to polish it's like heaven, anytime you need help on a machine let me know. It's been over 30 years I have using polishing machines and love it. Can't beat the correction work one can do with it.

Ed, is it necessary to dawn wash a new Camaro that hasn't been waxed/polished before or is it just "highly recommended"?
