IMO only, this form of texting just makes people look very lazy and illiterate to the message receiver. I truly believe the majority of people really don't want to try and decipher cryptic versions of the English language simultaneously slowing down their reading speed. I swear I'm losing confidence in where this country is going. The tendency to communicate this way will obviously carry over into professional lives and will reflect negatively to an employer. A person wouldn't work long for me who communicated this way. Words like "Cuz, Dey, Da" aren't words, just a lazy way to communicate. Yep, I'm an old timer who isn't perfect but at least I try to make meaningful, unambiguous, declarative sentences. In your words, "jus put'n togedda sum werds."

I like how he tells us he is abbreviating his words but yet he still spells full words like "pissed" when he could just say po'd (pissed off). Also he spelled "different", he could have just said "dif". He isn't abbreviating, he is trying to sound gangster and "cool" but he is just sounding like a complete _______. I am sure many of you will find words to put in the blank.

That's fine as long as your texting on your phone and your limited to character count. If I text on the phone I will do the short stuff so I don't have to send several messages but why do it here when you can type to your hearts content and IT IS easier to read.

You know what I just realized.. My phone has the t9w function just like most, and mine has a smart feature that will automatically finish the word for you. It actually takes more time to type like that. So his excuse for saving time, and easier is pure

Hey, don't throw us gamers in with him! Text messages have character limits, and games can be time-sensitive, so txt-speak can have its uses. Those with a bit of common sense and some semblance of grammar skills can recognize this setting - a web forum - as differing in that you normally (as is the case with the iPhone) have a full Qwerty keyboard at your disposal and are not under a deadline to make your post.
