Well crap! Now I can't find them. I think I did send them to Scrming a while back though.. maybe he still has them... but, like you said, it'll take a good engine guy to cipher a better profile.

I did find a link to one of the Aussie performance shops that does stuff with the HFV6...

You could have 500 in heads, 2k max in cams, couple hundred in gaskets and misc, and 1k in valve job and port polish (guess?), 500 in tuning. Thatd be about 4k for 50hp min.. Thats not too crazy. If the cams ended up at 1k for a set we'd be right on par with the $/hp a STS turbo nets you and i would bet youd gain more than 50hp.
The STS turbo is netting more like 150 to 200 HP...and now that there is talk that Vince has worked out some fuel issues to be able to support 7 or 8 psi of boost, the gain could be a tad more than that. Anyways, just wanted to point out it is well north of 100 hp.

My bad, i thought the sts kit shipped at 5psi / 427hp range and aac had it briefly dyno at 8psi / 505 hp and was going lean. Thats awesome its sorted out by Vince!

Any thoughts on the LLT cam / head cost estimates?

Well your comment was not far off. At first, I believe the 5psi was about the most they could get without troubles, but I just wanted to point out that it seems they have had some success at breaking that barrier and pushing moreso to the 500HP range.

Lingenfelter got back to me and said dont add material to cams because the welding ruins the heat treatment and causes early cam failure.

Comp cams response:
We actually do not offer anything valve train related for this motor yet, if you are looking for a nice HP increase we do offer a nitrous kit through ZEX that would give you a great increase in power without hurting factory drivability. Please get back with me if I can help further, thanks.

The guys that used to do re-grinds for us on the race bikes would anneal and re-heat treat the cams along with adding a nitride coating (hard face) to the contact surface after adding material and cutting the lobes.

We never put more than a few thousand HARD miles on them but I only had one small pit develop on one lobe which the company repaired for free.
