Only tome I've used launch control, to make sure pedal didn't stick, I just slid my foot to the left.

Worked great!

I have had my pedal drop and had some problems very early on with the engagement point being different. Since my car was the 1st customer car to be delivered in AZ 4/20/2009 I have had the car a while.

I am very happy with it but I did experience a few problems in the first 5K miles. 1) Starter wiring relocated per recall. 2) PCM needed to be updated. 3) Rear spoiler wing loose – fix also required painting the rear deck. 2) Tachometer broke replaced. 3) Dash warped and replaced.

After 20K+ miles on the car I took it to the dealer and they could not duplicate the clutch problem so understandably no work on the clutch or pressure plate for me. – Actually I think the problems with the engagement have gotten better rather than worse.

I haven't gotten the Camaro yet, but with all of these issues with the clutches I'm not sure about the M6. I did e-mail the guys at GForce about their line of clutches. Chris said the clutch in the M6 is the same as the one in the LS7 engines and that their Level I or II will do the trick with as they say buttery smooth engagements. If GM does not find a better clutch for this car, I'm just going to say the hell with the warrenty and get a Gforce clutch and enjoy the car for the money I will spend. Past GM clutches did not have this much trouble with them.

I had the car at the dealership service dept this morning. 2.5 hours later, they say it needs another slave / master brake cylinder. Parts are on order and I will keep my camaro at home till the parts come in.

Is this clutch still an issue with the 2011 models?

Commode went to Dealer for clutch today

I finally got a dealer to listen to my clutch woes (6th try, 5 diff dealers) and the parts came in and I dropped it off this morning...Thanks to Camaro5 member on this thread, jnm2003, for supplying me with the additional part numbers I got the dealer to order the T/O bearing and slave, in addition to the new clutch and pp before the car went in. Keeping my fingers crossed.. They're also gonna look at the third gear synchro while the trans is out.
Sure hope it drives like it's supposed to when it comes back.

Question

10800 miles. At the dealer now. Car is making a whining noise from clutch area. Service tech says not sure what it is. I said I have read about the pressure plate and bolts backing out. Then he says that was what he is leaning towards. Love being treated like an idiot then you show them information online and the tone changes . I asked about a centerforce clutch said would void warranty. WHY . I'll pay u to put it in I said. He laughed

Ha-ha.. I got the same response from my dealer. I said I'd buy a Centerforce, or even an LPE dual-disc, and they can put it in while they have the car apart... not happening! I was told if I wanted them to do that, I would have to pay for all the labor, all the parts and then the warranty would be voided!! Not exactly a bargain. I might as well do it myself then. The whole point is to have it done while the car was apart.

I'll just let them do the stock stuff for now to get the current clutch, PP, T\O bearing and new hydraulics in there, and then upgrade next year or whenever I get tired of the stock clutch. I'm just looking forward to a car that has a properly working clutch. 6 long months of suffering with the garbage that Gumby Motors put in.

Agreed, I would let them spend GM money to put the new clutch in. I would bet there is damage to the clutch if the bolts backed out.

My hometown dealer said they would install the aftermarket clutch if I bought the parts. It would void the warranty on the clutch, because they can't guarantee other than GM parts. Not sure how they could void anything else, unless they can PROVE the aftermarket part made other parts go bad. Decided to stick (no pun intended) with the GM clutch because there is only 4000 miles on the car. Your clutch is only under warranty for 12,000 miles. Maybe it's best to check other dealers. Some dealers are more friendly to aftermarket parts.

I just had a dealer tell me I voided my warrantee on my truck because of the lift, but the problem was not related to suspension. After alot of conversation and heartache, they removed the statement from their report to GM. Let's just say, I'm going somewhere else. STAY AWAY from Terry Cullens Chevrolet in Jonesboro, GA if you have or want mods on your car!

Clutch is done!

Got my ride back last night! Very fast...but then again, it's because they did not fix the 3rd gear synchro.... "No issue with shifting found!" Guess I will tear into it myself over the winter when I take it apart for everything else.. can't drive it in Colorado then anyway. As far as the clutch itself goes, it's a world of difference! Very nice. Feels like a manual shift car should!
Thanks again for all that helped with part numbers so I could pass them on to the dealer, as GM still has no official bulletins out! Basically, the only way they will fess up is if you make a case with a good service manager, and he calls the GM tech line directly (and having part numbers helps). Then they will say, "Yeah, that part is covered, and there is a problem."..but no bulletins!

In any case, after 6 months, my car is working at 95%..

Was just informed today that my clutch kit arrived at the dealer, they said it was 1 of 95, it looks like there will be 94 other Camaroowners who will be receiving there cluth kits also right from the company that produces the clutches, it will be nice to use the car again after not having it for about 40 days

40 days? That's 1/2 your summer!

Well, at least you'll have a low mileage Camaro.
