I did pay cash for my car and for my mods so it truly is no big deal. I do spend over 6k per month(business and personal) with my ins company and I do get a vip discount. I also know that my 20 yr old son wrecked one of my trucks a year ago and smashed the rear of a nice dodge car and I paid the repair bill instead of going through my ins company actually more then once. I spend around 2k yearly for my 2010 Camaro, 2008 Z-71 Lifted Tahoe, 2008 Chevy Crew cab Duramax. The funny thing is my camaro was the cheapest one of the three before the mods that is.

I was told Hagerty would not insure due to the combination of the HP mod and model year.
That being said I have not verified this myself.
I am sure there are all kinds of disclaimers so many of the companies do not have to pay the claim if the car has been used at a track, has had HP mods, non OEM brake mods, etc.
Just figure if you want to be covered fully, with an ironclad policy, your gunna pay through the nose!
If ya wanna play ya gotta pay!
Now, where's my keys!

I have been in contact with Hagerty on the 2010 and they will in fact insure these cars with the mods for an agreed value. This of course comes at a premium, about double what I am paying now.

Some exclusions include, no stopping for milk at the grocery store, 3,500 mi per yr. Not covered for auto cross or drag strip. They recommend track day insurance for those events. Checked in to this as well, track day insurance is very high dollar!!!

Like you said Windy, ya gotta pay to play.

Sorry guys. I just don’t see it; supercharged Camaro’s running in the LOW 11’s …. That would be something worth going for. With all those Mod’s from either company LFP, SLP or any other tuner and not break in the low 11’s that sad! Sorry I might be bitter from an experience last night were as a stock Z06 torn me up. Highway and light to light… Yes I understand the power to ratio thing but even if I have a SLP or LFP with 650hp+ under the hood results would have been the same!

Need more motor work and less weight…

Future Mods
Dual fiction clutch
Engine back exhaust headers etc.
Heads
Bore 60over
Bigger Manifold
Magna charger
Fuel pressure up to 60lbs from stock 40lb

Will all this make the camaro a Z06 fighter

I would disagree. We have run against the C6 and beat it. We are a dead heat against a Z06 on a road course.

C6 at Gingerman

OEM Camaro and Pedders Camaro

Camaro vs Vette

Camaro at Optima Challenge

Our car is ONLY 530 at the rear wheels. Lingenfelter is building more power by both torque and horse power. It absolutely possible for a Camaro daily driver to perform at the levels of a C6 Z06. Why would anyone do this? Because they want more seating or a different vehicle than a Vette.

You can't change physics in terms of weight, but you can add RWHP to compensate.

You cannot even bore one of these blocks 60 over. They start with .05 then .10 and maybe .15 which I think might be the max. This is the way I understand it. I would be more then happy to try it against a Z06 someday.

The 570 package with street tires is good for a 12.2 if not better. Add DR's to the mix and into the 11's for sure. The 650 guys will be into the 11's no problem. And I will let you know how the raod track goes this summer but I think Pete has figured that out already.

It all depends on the driver too. If your running against a Z06 at the strip - it is a traction problem just like you will have on street tires. When I was at the strip last summer a Z06 was running 12.6's because of traction and maybe the driver. I was running 12.4's. Is the Z06 slower than my car, I doubt it.

No... To track insurance.Never had a need for it..

Never had any incidents on the track with the exception being Oval track racing (those guys are animals..) we quit running after the 1st season - it took 4 days to put the car back together after each and every event from the bashing the car kept taking. Some people treat Oval track as a demo derby...:( it was fun though...

Spring is in the air in the Land of Enchantment! 55 degree weather just about melted all the snow in our yard. The roads are clear with some dirt/salt residue. I drove about 50 fun filled miles in my car this weekend. It was absolutely incredible! I love this INSTANT POWER. Yet even with all this power, the car is extremely drivable. I love the gear. My take on it is, that 1st thru 4th definitely have more pep. I got up to 95 in third at about 5000to 5500 rpm (On a closed road used only for testing fast cars that is), 5th and 6th are close to the same as stock was. You're still at 80-85mph in 6th at just over 2000 rpm. The suspension definitely helps with the handling, but really doesn't affect the comfort at all. I'm still on stock tires/wheels, so traction is definitely an issue, but I've just adjusted by doing rolling launches and it's not too bad. Can't do too many black snakes yet anyway, as the salt/dirt would just ding up my paint.
For those of you who have already felt this incredible power, Now I can officially relate, and those of you still waiting, It is sooooo totally worth the wait.

It sounds like a blast! Have you let RS drive it yet? I figured he would want to do the gear swap. I bet you will notice a huge difference with the new tires when I was there at LPE I felt a Nitto 555 and it really felt sticky. I ended up going with the 555s since I couldn't get the NT05R after we were told we could. When I drove mine the other day it seems like I was running about 65 just under 2000 rpms. The weather is getting much better here all the snow has melted and it got up to 50 today. I must warn everyone who has not driven an LPE supercharged camaro yet you must be very carefull when you floor it as your head will snap back into the headrest very quick and hard. My neck is still sore today because I wasn't really thinking when I got on it I will know to be more carefull when I get my car tomorrow!
