Question for all you Tucson Camaro owners. Does anyone have their car windows tinted? If so, where did you get it done and what kind of tint did you get? Also, how much did it cost you. I am looking to get my car tinted, but I have no idea where to start. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi. I had mine done right after I took delivery back in August of 2009. Went to "The Specialist". They have several locations around town. Did "limo" on the rear and quarter glass and legal on the door glass. The best tint they offered at the time and came with a lifetime warranty. Price was about $275.00. But that was almost 2 years ago. Several other members used them and so far, no complaints. Good luck and welcome to the group.

Well with the hit in $$ I took trying to get my exhaust just right I might only cruise up on Saturday or something :(

But as an update I got rid of the rattle/nasty vibrations at 1800-2000 RPM. If you have an L99, and get headers/hi flow cat system, I recommend getting a setup that incorporates mesh/braided flex pipes before the cats...if you can even do it/available. I know hi-flo cat systems with them on there that bolt to the stock manifolds...but you NEED TO TUNE AFM OUT if you have headers/hi flo cat system otherwise you will be annoyed or feel like the car is falling apart on trips/cruises. It is NOT the stock resonator or exhaust. If you take off the stock pipes w/ cats the flex pipes are at the ear clamps - look like an accordion. Read the posts here:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136075

examples of what you need to kinda look for if you get hi flo cats or headers with an L99 is post 40 in that thread.

Thanks to Drew for coming out and helping me today.

I agree with 40years on The Specialists. Just took mine there for the clear bra last Monday, and had 2 other cars tinted by them. I had this one tinted at the dealership because they offered it at cost ($110). Go to Wetmore and Auto Mall Drive and ask for Jeff Zanotti. Tell him Bob Taylor with the orange convertible sent you. I told him I'd send others his way if he can offer dealer pricing.

Awesome, thanks! I had seen them online, and they claimed to be the best, but so does every other place, lol.

Thank you! Glad to be here.

One more question, do you remember if they had examples of what the different percentages of tint would look like? Not sure if I want to do limo, as I'm not sure how well you'd be able to see at night.

Yes they do have samples on the showroom glass. Very easy to pick out the one that you want. Limo on the back window is not as bad as you think. Are you coming to C5Fest? If you are, you can take a look at mine.

Talked to AZSS6SPD last night and we would like to plan a little convoy on the way back from C5Fest II. He plans to leave the Hilton around 1100 on Sunday. Since folks are scattered around Phoenix, we should meet on the South side of town or maybe Casa Grande for lunch. We will have to talk it up at the Fest. I will be offline soon. Gotta finish packing up and get on my way.

BTW - +1 for the Specialist at Auto Mall and Wetmore for tint and clear bra. Had my clear bra for over a year. Just one minor problem and it was fixed without any hassles. Tint was done last Friday. Went with 35% everywhere and a limo tint strip across the front windshield. For me, its a 160 mile round trip but it is worth it for quality.

I wish I was going, but I'm not going to be able to make it. Hopefully they'll have another one next year in PHX. Glad to hear they have examples for me to look at. Also, what is this "clear bra" you guys are talking about? What does it do?

Did you get yours tinted by the guy JC recommends? He also quoted me 110 but haven't gotten mine done yet. I was wondering how the quality was. What percent did you get?

Dude, it will never be closer than this. Next year it's gonna be somewhere near the middle of the United States. If at all possible you should go to this one. Nothing is gonna stop me from going to this fest!!
