I have a '15 2SS. I just pulled the fuses to see if it helps. I have heard it doesn't work on the '15's.

anyone know if this is applicable to a 2014 SS/RS L99? I am putting on aftermarket exhaust, have a RANGE device, and might also try this fuse trick to see what comes out the other side!!??

I've read comments where guys with newer Gen5's experienced the benefit. If you have never put lower octane gas in your car, ever, you will receive 0 benefits.. Even thought my car had 300 miles on it when I picked it up, I could not say for sure if the dealer put in lower octane gas so I did the pull just to make sure... I didn't notice any difference.

I just performed this last night on my 14 L99 SS. It worked for sure. I won't say that it added 20HP, but under half to more pedal I could feel what appeared to me as the engine pulling timing. Almost like a small shudder, not a TC Shudder...just like it was holding back.
This morning I did the same pull. Completely smooth, without that feeling that it was pulling timing.

I'll try again in a few days to see if it returns...make sure placebo isnt taking over.

I did the fuse pull on our 15 SS Vert with the L99 that we bought last month. What a difference it made. I have only used 91 and above octane since we bought the car.

5 months ago I did the fuse pull and it worked great resting the fuel map. The past 2 weeks it just felt off and slow. I did the fuse pull again and bam! Back in the game... I must have got some low octane 91 In the tank... Oh well, back to pulling like a 6.2 should.

Not getting positive results....

I recently went through two full tanks of 93 octane gas, and decided to try the greatly hyped "fuse pull." I honestly believe that after doing this, my car may even seem more sluggish. Not to say that it is a sluggish vehicle by any means, but I actually think it was pulling harder and better beforehand. Just my experience.

Maybe what you were sold as being 93 octane was not, in fact 93 octane?

It made a difference for me.

I'm not 100% certain about what went wrong, but I now wish that I hadn't pulled those fuses at all to begin with. The car definitely doesn't pull as well on the highway at higher speeds like it used to.

I would guess that if I had been sold lower octane gas, then I should expect to notice no difference at all. The computer should have already put the car into the lower octane table before the fuse pull occurred. If actually lower octane gas, I would almost assuredly see no power gain, but I don't see how I would notice losing power. I'm actually concerned at what the problem might be here. Seems odd to me. I appreciate your input though.

If anyone else had any ideas, I would sure appreciate it as well. Maybe I just need to get a computer tune, and be done with it...?

2014 SS M6 I bought my car with 19000 miles and now have 21000. I have pumped premium since I bought the car. I did the fuse pull last night and at WOT it feels like a whole new animal! God bless this forum lol

i bought my L99 brand new and of course the dealer gave it to me with a tank of gas. I went through it, certain that they had used 87 or 89. Then after going through a second tank of 91 that i put in, I did the fuse pull. WOW! What a difference!!!

This leads me to believe that you need more than one of two tankfuls of premium to reset the octane read on the car.

I have the fuses pulled on my 15 2ss vert right now waiting a little longer before I give it a go. 93 is all I put in it but it definitely wasn't as fast as I was expecting it to be. I'll reply here with my results.

Thanks to all who have contributed in this thread!

Just installed new exhaust and doing the fuse pull again. Its just better to do it ever couple months as you never know if some gas stations have garbage for gas. Love my SS
