Welcome back Lady & welcome Michael & Lady Blue. I will be at C5 Fest with my other half (also a Michael but goes by Mike - NikeMike2SS/RS on C5) and his Camaro. Feel free to fall in with us & our clubs' Camarovan traveling up, at any of our rally points: Clarksville, TN; Nashville, TN; Bowling Green, KY; & Louisville, KY. It is going to be a blast again.

This thread is a good place to hang out with a great group of comrads.

We bought Ruby Too's habitat (I hate to call it a cage) carrier & some supplies. I can't wait to get my hands on her tomorrow.

And for FOTO Friday ... my contribution is actually a series of screen captures of a video I recorded this afternoon while working on a mod on the car and recording it for a possible "How to" video. As you can see, perhaps I need to rethink the process or use it as a "How NOT to do"...

The planned video was on demonstrating a method to remove a hood and install another without another person there to give a hand. The idea is to use an inflatable twin sized air mattress (approx 90% inflated) to "roll" the hood up onto for the removal, and "roll" back off of for the install. The hood removal video dragged out a bit due to the threads on the hood bolts being burred up just a bit requiring them to be wrenched off the entire way, but the process worked well.

The hood install portion went great right up til the end ...

Success at bolting on the hood!

Woohoo!

Tablecloth trick to remove the air mattress and pad!

Uh ... Where was the tripod and camera set up again?

Awwww ... crap ....

Any guesses as to what the final image here actually is?

(First correct guess wins the first ever "Funny FOTO Friday Feature Prize", which has an actual value of approximately 0.0003 cents and is available only to US residents not within the contiguous 48 states ... taxes are the sole responsiblity of the winner)

Tips for those replacing a hood by themselves:

1) when removing the first hood, look up! (when turning with the hood lifting it off of the car, be aware of where the garage door is in relative position to where you are standing!)

2) do NOT use the "tablecloth trick" to remove the air mattress and pad when you have a camera mounted on a tripod nearby.

3) try not to teach the neighbor kids new words when you smack one hood into the garage door and then again when you knock over a nice camera on a tripod ... while filming.

Andy, sorry. Is anything messed up other than your pride? Now really, as much as you have helped various ones of us out, you could have asked & someone would have come to help you with that.

My Imperial Blue Metallic splash guards arrived today. Took them out of the box and looked at them, then wrapped them back up and put them back in the box. I would have taken a photo of them for foto Friday, but I would much rather post of a photo with them ON the Camaro. Maybe next week.

We did drive by the body shop tonight where it is at and saw it parked outside in the secured lot, next to what I believe is a red Saleen Mustang. The new tire and wheel have been installed and they did a front end alignment today. They tell me the repairs to the front cover and rocker molding are in process, but I could not tell from the distance and lack of daylight. Might try for a closer look tomorrow.

Welcome Michaels2011.

Newp, hehheh ...

I suppose I should add a Tip #4 to my "Tips for those replacing a hood by themselves":

4) when placing the stock hood in a safe, out of the way location, flat on the ground behind the camera tripod is not necessarily "safe" nor "out of the way".

(Damn, I am feeling rather "Skip-ish" all of a sudden ... at least my hood doesn't have an AM/FM antenna in it!)

I'll have my Friday pics on Saturday. I'll take some pics of Ruby Too to post here later today. I am so looking foward to cuddling with her. I hope it goes well. Bunnies can be really shy & squeemish with new people. It is supposed to be much colder here today. A good day for cuddling. Have a great Saturday everyone.
