It's all about personal preference and what you want it for.
Z28 is made for all-out-track running. Same as the old Z28s. No comfy/cozy stuff, no gadgets, nothing that impairs or impedes performance, no showy stuff. I would buy a Z28, but that's just ME. I don't expect everyone to feel the same, and I don't want them to - but you asked so I answered.

I bet it is the same price or more that ZL1, that LS7 and the Carbon brakes are gonna add up....

With a 427 in it, I wouldn't need all the bells and whistles.
I'd definitely want the A/C though. If it were a daily driver, ZL1 no doubt. If it was going to be strictly to take out to have fun with, Z28 hands down. |

ZL1 is available in automatic so obviously the ZL1, no doubt I do like the Z28 though.

I'm obviously going to say ZL1, as my baby will be at the dealership this week. However, I wouldn't change my order either to a Z/28. These are all personal reasons and my opinion:
Being from Indiana, it's hot in the summer, and cool during the early spring/late fall. So i'd have to have my A/C and heated seats. Also, can't see myself going on any kind of road trip without a stereo. Imagine if you're going from the west cost to C5 fest in a Z/28. LS7 sounds great sure, but for that many miles? You're going to want music. That's about my only gripe besides how much the damn thing will cost for less/more (depending on how you view it) Sure you get better breaks, an LS7, lighter weight, but then you have to pay MORE on top of that for things that are standard on a ZL1. That being said, I really want to see WHERE the '3 seconds faster a lap' is coming from. If it's around the ring, thats understandable to pick up 3 seconds, however, around a track like VIR, 3 seconds is a life-time and I'm guessing it's not going to ACTUALLY be 3 seconds a lap faster around some of the tracks that we see alot of these laps run at for magazine times. We'll see, i could eat crow.

ZL1 for me. More HP, magnetic ride control, fog lights, AC and bells and whistles.
I don't do track stuffs so for me, I wouldn't need a track based car, as much.

That's a tough question. Hard to say no to a 427.

I like the z28 as well but the zl1 has all the bells and whistles halo lights, my link, and all the other feautures i dont track race so kinda pointless for a z28 and the zl1 looks badass
