Don't kill me, but I'm not 100% sure what the difference is between a regular cell phone and a bluetooth one??
I have a chocolate LG phone with Verizon. Is it true that I could change to a bluetooth phone with verizon and and make calls thru the Camaro? I'm also gettting to the point where 11 yr old son wants a cell phone (Very good kid). Do I keep my regular cell phone and add a bluetooth one? And only the bluetooth type of phone can be conected to the car? Can someone help out an old fart?

I use the "Onstar" phone all the time. I added more minutes using my CC. I did all this thru Onstar talking to a "live" person on the other end. Handsfree calling is the way to go or Bluetooth if you have it.

you can link the cell phone to the button when it says on star ready, say phone. Read the manual it explains it.

THANKS GUYS i was ignorant but i figured out the bluetooth with the iphone thing. But the salesman should have told be that instead of me pulling out my credit card and paying 14.99 for 100 minutes. REGULAR price is 40.00 for 100 minutes buts its not your cellphone its a Verizon number. But I figured it out either way and Im really happy.

go to your iphone while your sitting in your car with it running, go to general settings, and turn on your bluetooth option. car will automatically detect and tell you to enter pin, and car will identify in phone as gm and your good to go.

You are correct, even before I left the car lot my sales lady dialed up onstar and helped me get my on line account set up and gave me my car phone number. You can acces your account on the net, and if you give them your email they will send you a diagnostic report each month on your car to let you know if anything needs attention. It's great! |

for instance if you leave your phone @ home you can still be reached. if you are in a bad cell area...you can typically call from your car if needed. if you drop your phone in the toilet etc etc etc just remember to use for emergencies only |

I love the blue tooth tethering. I alos keep minutes on the Onstar just for backup. There are several places in this great Nation that Onstar works better than my AT&T iphone. Most of them are places I don't take the camaro though.

To make it easy for you guys who don't read the Manual or who are not good or get the technology today, just press the phone button on the steering wheel. Then it wil respond by saying "ready" it will wait for you to say something. If you don't respond, it will give you the options you can say. It will give you options like dial, redial,Bluetooth, etc.

Then, when you want to call numbers, say the following: Call (then say the name--it's called a voice tag, I think). Dial (then just say the digits, without pausing - to dial numbers not in memory). It's painless! Then when you make or receive calls the system will mute your radio to allow your call and then resume your radio when you hang up...very, very, cool!
