The factory heater hoses are now aluminum pipes routed down along the frame rail. Very similar set up to the TechAFX relocation kit.

Not familiar with the Katech solution, only the tech afx.

The GM price is priceless because it comes from GM.

Go in there complaining about gurgling from the hoses and get them replaced under warranty Just kidding. I like the idea of having the metal hose like the TechAFX. OH ya and if you do the 2012 mod and you still can get away with warranty work if they don't catch on that the 2010's and 2012's are different at the dealership.

are you seriously saying that GM will refuse warranty work if you have different heater hoses on your car? really?

Your local dealer can give you part numbers and order the parts. Sometimes certain parts are on order restriction. Depends on supply level. Other parts will require a vin number before the dealer can order the part.

If your heater core or something associated with the hoses goes bad and sees that you have non OEM hoses in different places then yes they can refuse the warranty work. Not too likely, but would you take the chance? I'm planning on blowing up my powertrain warranty anyways so it wouldn't matter to me.

Thats the entire purpose of the Magnusson Moss act. You can use aftermarket parts to replace factory parts and they can't void your warranty unless they can prove the lines were the cause. Kind of a stretch for a piece of hose of the same diameter.

I know; there's no issue either way. Just more warranty paranoia.

I understand the act. That's why I said it probably won't be a problem since it's just a couple of stupid hoses, but they could deny warranty. You can fight them on the act, but do you really want to spend the money to fight it? Just move on to the next dealer and try there.

That's my point for getting the new 2012 parts. It's less risky to change to oem parts for those worried about warranties.
