Gila Bend, ~45 minutes south of Phoenix. Was a super easy drive out. Drove there, raced, drove home.

Striker, considering the ONLY 5th gen was Jon's ZL1, you would easily be the fastest 5th gen. Should be a solid upper 150 low 160 car with that much power.

Guess Ill need to get with the tuner to make a little more of an aggressive tune for this event. My shit seems a little too watered down.

Great...Maricopa County. Very familiar with that entire area.

Home of "Let's pull Ivan over for doing 6 mph over everytime he drives through here."

I literally got 13 speeding tickets in a year when I was (young and dumb) stationed in El Centro. I used to drive home every other weekend in my slow old FBody. There was one time the same guy pulled me over three times in a row. Once for doing 2 mph over the limit.

It only took me 8 months to realize that they figured out my pattern and time I'd be coming through only to be waiting.

I got over on them....I ended up getting out of the Navy. Hahah! LOL

Anyhow. Great place to run fast. Nice and flat. I'll stay tuned. Be cool to check this event out man.

Ivan

Come on out. $200 is a bargain for it. It was the best day of racing/fun I've ever had in a car. $30 at a drag strip to make 3-4 passes, or $200 for all day making 20-40 passes if you want, hanging out, getting rides in other cars, etc. It was a blast.

How do I pass tech for this event ? similar to 1/4 drag nights? I run a nitto nt05r drag radial but was told these tires would not be allowed at the 1/2 mile event.

It looks like you self tech. There is a sheet to download and fill out yourself for your car. I also saw that DRs were not allowed. That doesn't make sense....I wanted to use mine! Lol

I'm trying to talk my dad into bringing his 1969 Z/28. He like the idea of it being a roll race since the 302s have no torque. Plus we always talk shit to each other so this would be a good opportunity to put that to rest.

I figured I would have to grab a new set of tires to run at this event.. problem is I don't have many options in @ 305/45/18 but nitto DRs.

bring your dad and drag him all the way down the runway. New vs old muscle always is fun to see.

Drag radials are not an issue as long as they are in good shape. NT05R are fine, along with ET streets. Hoosiers are not allowed. I ran 325 ET streets, and about every RWD car was on drag radials last time.

Like 376, just self tech. Fill the form out and bring it with.

Anyone else? I thought there were a bunch of 700+ hp Camaros. You goto the pavllions or car shows and there are tons of people claiming 700+hp yet you never see them at the drag strip, and none at the last event like this? Are they just show cars?
