Have you thought the retro emblem instead? I hated the block lettering and wanted to keep the zl1 on the hood.

Now this is nice!!! If I could do it again I would have went this route instead. IMO, the hood emblem on the fender doesn't look right.

Anyone Put A ZL1 Badge On Their Front Fender?
Quote:
I've personally seen it and didn't like the way it looked on the fender. Hard for me to explain but I felt like it did not fill in that area properly and stood out. It just felt like it didn't belong there. I guess it's just because I was used to seeing that area filled out with the block lettering and I really like the ZL1 on the hood. With that said, I do like the emblem pro ZL1 emblem that was posted above. It could be the color of his car but it seems to flow with the fender. I also like that it says supercharged above the ZL1.

I went with the trunk OEM ZL1 emblems as they are a tad smaller than the ones on the hood.

Personally I think the ZL1 tends to be bit over badged. The other models didn't get hood emblems. I'm not sure why Chevy thought the ZL1 needed them. I much prefer the "cleaner" look without badges on the hood and fenders.

I think the badging is good as is. Why alter perfection?

+1 Like the badging just the way it came originally.

What's the trick to getting the CAMARO letters off without messing up the paint? I'm not a big fan of those.

I've been tempted to replace the CAMARO on the fender, and replace it with the scripted version from the 1969 ZL1 (Well, also used in pretty much every Camaro in the 60's and 70's). Sort of as an homage. Anybody do that? Not sure how it would turn out on an essentially "murdered out" ZL-1 (black, black rims and tinted windows... I know... could be more "murdered out")
Actually found this thread... I like it on his car, would love to see it on black. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=403865
