I have the same oem short throw in my 15 ss and it was pretty clunky until I swapped out the trans fluid to synthetic.

I have the aftermarket HURST short throw. I bought it bc I really liked the retro look and price but eventually ill be swapping it out for an MGW

That looks good. I wish I could find a red ball with that shift pattern on it. They seem to be pretty elusive. I can find solid red but so far have struck on finding one with a shift pattern that matches the Camaro.

The Hurst shifter I installed into my 2010 SS was no more than a vintage looking lever that you could screw a knob on. I think it was shorter than the stock lever and had the Hurst logo engraved into it. The OEM shifter mechanism was retained just the lever and knob was included in the kit. It had a shorter throw due to the fact it was shorter but the shifting felt the same because the OEM shift mechanism was retained. I did like the old school look with the white knob.

I diy'd my own short throw and although the mechanism is obviously unchanged, the shorter stick combined a weighted shift knob makes a really noticeable difference.
