The first time I hit the track in the 5th Gen was a disaster and ran 14's
Lots of experience with 3rd and 4ths but I needed to learn this thing so my next weekend wasn't so frustrating Did a little reading here and did the 5/20 fuse pull, Stab and TC off grannied it out of the hole and ran a best of 13.08 stock. Mine is a A6 the M6 is faster and quicker stock with the right driver. Good Luck and have fun.

Nice job OP. That's a great start. FWIW, here is some in-car on mine back when it was bolt ons, and on some hard, crappy street tires.

Andrew (acammer) what is it running these days? I should be going quicker as the best run still seems slow. I’m on a Mickey Thompson Street E/T R. The build I’m in the planning phase of should see me over 1200 wheel.
*Sorry. No idea why it changed it to Aaron and I didn’t notice.

Those are pretty good times for first time out, hell for any SS close to stock.

The clock starts when your front tires break the beam. Your MPH supports a high 12 second pass. Work on getting your 60ft times down that is the most critical thing for a good ET

Might be a bit of a noob question but I saw some of the guys in here mention to ease off when you feel wheel hop, is that more an issue of you car getting out from under you and losing control or an issue of destroying your diff?

You won't destroy your diff first, you'll destroy your axles. Ask me how I know, lol. The factory bushings are very compliant for a softer ride and they'll allow far too much movement with a hard launch. The tires will grab, the suspension and cradle will "wrap up" and store energy, then that energy will violently release which causes the hop condition. This happens repeatedly within a split second, and will absolutely break parts if you don't let off the throttle. The cure is replacing every bushing in the rear with poly ( or solid ) versions and getting tubular toe rods and trailing arms. This allows the tires to grab without the suspension loading up. And if they do break loose, it's controlled.

Yes sir, it was fun! After we did the LT's and a tune I went 12.68 my quickest of that mod. Still stock gears and stall. Haven't had her on the track yet with the cam, LOD and 4500 stall and new tune. I just can't get myself to take her over and abuse her for a couple of runs. I know how she is on the street, and she is a ton of fun and pretty quick! That's all I need.

Lots of broken axles. The 6th gen used a 5 link instead of our 3 link so they just squat and go

I did the suspension before I added power after getting that advice on here. No hop at all. Of course I’ve changed just about every single thing in the suspension.
