Oh man. I didn't realize that you were installing it with a ZL1 bumper conversion. I test fit these on Zl1 bumpers and there were some clearance issues. You will have to make your own judgement call, but the person who test fit one for me, would have had to cut into the lower grille. Up to you but you may end up having to resell it, or dig into the grille.

THANKS AGAIN! For putting these together for us. My guess is the rear crash bar is out of the question. shame! Was one ever test fit or mocked up where I could get RSM to cut one for me?

[QUOTE=fnhowe84;11425717]They told me that they have the mesaurements already in house for a parachute mount that they were working on. The problem is because I was a first time vendor, they railroaded me on the price per unit. You have to buy $5k per year to be a vendor, so they basically cahrged me to get the price into the $5k mark. I was considering reaching out on the rear bar project, but it they are going to charge me $206 per unit plus freight, I won't be able to pull it off.

[QUOTE=fnhowe84;11425717]I just spoke to Joey at RSM... They don't seem to be interested in making the rear bar, or making more of the front bars. I got a "Our production schedule is full and we have no plans of working on these projects at the moment" response. So looks like this might have been a "one and done" product. I wonder if someone like send cut send could build these for me at a reasonable price point, then I could just pay someone to weld them up for me.

by some chance is there 1 laying around still that was returned or not sold? I have an event coming up that requires a tow hook and can seem to find where to place mine? This would solve my problem perfectly!

Sorry but these are officially sold out. I do have the test bar that RSM sent me but the welds are not as pretty and the powdercoat is stripped where the tow hook mounts. I was really hoping to take this to some of my local fab shops and see if I could find somebody local who could make these for a better price. RSM basically gave me the run around and told me that they weren't interested in making any more, and they essentially didn't want to work on the rear bumper bar project either. i would prefer not to sell this unit as it would make a great canidate as a future prototype.

Just a little update/feeler here.... I ahve gotten in touch with a local fabricator and we are working on redesigning this front crash bar with some square stock, different end plates to mount to the car itself, and working to adjust the tow hook mounting position so that these will in fact fit ZL1 front bumpers. Stay tuned as I will post updates when I have them. Hoping to make the pricing as competitive as possible. We are considering selling raw/unfinished, as well as a gloss black powder coat option. We considered going with a custom powder coat color to set us apart from the competition, but not sure on that just yet.
With that being said.. IF we are able to make this new fabricator work... Then I will be able to design my own rear crash bar, which opens up that option as well.

the Fab shop has agreed to build me a temporary jig and build out our first test unit. So I should have more info/pictures in the next week or so. We are using square stock steel and moving the entire bar a 1/2 back which SHOULD provide the clearance we need to fit a ZL1 front bumper. Please be patient as it may take awhile to get to the final revision.
