I like the front of both but the rear of that Mustang is horrible. I can't decide if it is the fact that the Camaro looks like it is scowling at you while the mustang looks wide-eyed and frightened or (nothing meant offensively here) that the Mustang just looks like some of that Japanimation stuff that they put on tv these days and call cartoons.

Might have something to do with the tires.. I'm guessing.
I have a LPE 570 Camaro and will run it sometime this summer.. and it won't be on Pirelli's.

My 2005 Corvette C6 totally stock pulled 12.2 - 12.3 times all day long.
The LPE Camaro is definitely faster.. no question in my mind.

I just need the drag strip near me to open to prove it... they open early April.

Don't be so surprised at the times for these cars. After all, a half a second cost money.

Well........ I gained a half second pulling a few fuses but .............. still.

Oh, and I know this article is about performance mainly but I too find the Camaro miles ahead of the Stang here. OMG, that is one seriously ugly ford. And I do like the Mustang in general.

that's a heck of a lot of money to run a 12.2. I don't know what mine would run in a 1/4 but my L99 auto is a hair faster to 60 MPH than the LPE on stock tires at less than 1/3 the price.

I don't think that was a great representation of either of those cars. Most rags actually almost admit they don't go for absolutely the fastest times; I don't understand that reasoning (i.e. no powershifting, TC, on, and other BS). Seeing those times doesn't lead me to believe these cars are a great value, however, I know there are people running better times with similar cars, so though I thought it was a good article, it may not be the best representation of the subjects. Still - I thought LPE was using Pedders or Pfadt suspension systems for their cars...

if you read the article, it explains that it was done on a "cold day" and on a "damp track." that might explain the lower times then what everyone is expecting compared to a stock ss

anyone else notice that the ss does not have the rs package? you'd think LPE could afford the extra couple grand. would have made for better pictures with the HID lights

i have a question though: i actually read that article a couple of weeks ago, and the camaro had better times and more power and torque than the mustang, except, when it came to these weird tests: 30-60 in top gear, rolling start to some speed or other. anyone know what these tests prove or why someone would make these tests?

seems to me the important ones are: horsepower, torque, 0-60, 0-100, 0-60-0, and 0-100-0.

oh, and i think these mustangs look better than the previous models, but regardless, i'm a camaro fan!

the camaro looks hungry next to the stang.. IMHO the only mustang that MIGHT (dont kill me here) look better, at least from the front, are the gt500 supersnakes and gt500 KR. They're simply scary to see in your rearview mirror and even scarier to drive.

gotta agree with u guys though, i expected better times though
