In colder climates you would want to keep an eye on that lightweight battery on a DD. If you hooked it up to a charger at night it would probably last alot longer. Definately worth it for almost 30lbs.

I live in Michigan but I put the car up for winter. The car never sees anything below ~45 degrees or so.
Just wondering if it is safe/reliable for a daily driver etc? Any problems with mounting? |

I rejust rebent and redrilled the holes in the factory battery mount sides. Uses the factory topplate and holds the battery sturdy.

I talked to an ex-Braille rep recently and he said that they are fine for most late model cars that are driven regularly. They have a low reserve capacity so if the car isn't charging the battery daily they will have difficulty starting. He basically said that they were not recommended for "weekend cars" unless you use a battery tender. Also, with such a low reserve capacity you only get about 2-3 starts on the battery per charge so using them on older, carbureted cars is a no-no...

Back to the topic, has anyone figured out how much weight reduction equals what drop in ET for these cars? Back in the 4th gen days we always said a 100 lbs would be a tenth.
