I opted for the manual "so my wife can't drive it". If you have ever seen her drive you would agree with me.

I too want a manual in part so I have an excuse when people ask me if I can drive it. It happened a lot in my Grand Prix, and I really don't like being the a**hole that says no. Now I'll have a reason why they can't drive it.

I too opted for an Auto for similar reasons, (my wife can't drive a stick and I'm 48 years old). I think my days of bangin' gears have come to an end. I also like the idea of AFM.

Shoot I'm 21 years old and I have knee problems due to years of cross country, track and field, and marathon running. I'm considering going auto to go easy on my knee. Saving $900 bucks and gaining 22hp counter the pain though. It is still a toss-up for me.

A agree with others in this post. No one can tell you what to buy.
I went stick because... 1 - I like shifting when I want to, not when the car wants to. 2 - Why pay more for something less fun? 3 - The Camaro has so much torque I'll be able to stay in higher gears and shift less often then with an engine that has to hold rpm for power 4 - The other two cars are autos 5 - 422 hp with the same highway milage 6 - Less change that it breaks later 7 - Needed something to do with my left foot 8 - Something about a shifter in a car....just feel right 9 - Launch control - fun toy on a lonely street in the middle of nowhere 10 - I never dreamed of owning an auto Camaro..ever. Since this is a dream purchase, got to go with what the dreams were about |

11 - Fbodfather "NOT the stock exhaust system.......
that car was built in late fall of last year -- we are still working on final exhaust tone - it will sound better. Automatic will not sound the same as manual with a V8 -- because the L99 has active fuel management. (Cylinder deactivation) " So the manual will sound different.....and I'm betting better. |

The age old debate: Auto or Manual? I too, have spent much of my adult life contemplating this question. I have issues that would benefit from auto, for sure. I just read this on AutoBlog about the new 7-speed auto in the Infiniti G37x (all wheel drive).
Here's the bottom line, IMHO: "First, the product planners have chosen to mate the ATESSA E-TS only to the new 7-speed automatic transmission – sadly, you won't find a G37x S 6MT anywhere in the lineup. Even though the Infiniti team boasts the "Drive Sport" mode and "Downshift Rev Matching" features on the new 7-speed auto, it is still a traditional "slushbox" with characteristic automatic transmission inadequacies." ![]() |

I will be geting the manual for the fun factor. It sounds like you will be happier with the auto. A big plus to that is the remote start. Wish they could design a factory system that could work with the manual. Make it where the transmission is disengaged when remote start is used.

I'm getting the manual but I'm young and stupid. Also doesn't hurt that the little lady drove a manual mini for 5 years.
