Bob was. And sadly, many here don't know the Texas swing. It may have saved the world. : /

To me if it doesn't have a V8 and manual transmission it's not a muscle car its an exotic. Keep your supercharger and turbos and your faster shifting automatic.
I want my V8 and I want to be able to twist it up in any gear and get some wheel spin when I drop the clutch. You might beat me at the track but I will be happy to lose the race but actually be "driving" a car.

I agree with OP--and I'm a V6 driver. There is nothing like the "brump, brump, brump" of a V8. Now for what will be considered heresy by most forum members: My favorite V8 sounds are the Chrysler hemi and the Mustang coyote V8s; the Chrysler has been my all-time favorite since hearing one in a Dodge truck back in the '50s. The hemispherical valve placement creates a very distinctive and pleasing (to me, at least) exhaust note!

My personal fav is the BBF 460 and Mopar 440. Those have a distinct "heavy" sound of their own.

My last Bodied drag only car was a '70 Duster, 440 factory based engine with mechanical roller, 906 ported heads, Rons Alky fuel injection with twin throttle bodies mounted on tunnel ram intake, 14.5 to 1 compression, that thing always turned heads when I rolled into the staging lanes. Only had 10" slicks so it was a hand full, but also a blast to drive. Tried a 250 shot of juice, tires just lit up at the hit. Old heavy steel bodied, chrome bumpers. Ran mid 10's in the 1/4.
