With just fueling and tune they could find the 40hp.

The tuning will probably take a while to unlock with the new electronics system.

I'm thinking that might be the DI pump, on the LT1 its on the back of the engine driven by a tri-lobe cam. They could have moved it to the front and made it chain driven

Most likely. I thought I saw somewhere the LT2 is using the E99 ECU which is the same one in the ZR1. Which if thats the case tuning is going to be EXPENSIVE on the corvette. Currently it'll run you $2000 for an unlocked ECU and another $500 in tuning credits for hp tuners.

I plan on seeing if the intake will fit on the camaro. If it’s 1 inch shorter than the truck intake it will fit. I bought a l86 intake to see if you could make a truck intake for and it was surprisingly close.

If you could just lower the cradle a tad that would just slide on

I think if you use the aftermarket motor mounts you just might have clearance.. I believe they drop the motor about 1 inch... not 100% sure

We will see whenever the lt2 intake is available to purchase I’ll go ahead and order it and see what all it takes to make it work or not work. Should be a nice upgrade though.

I just saw a car and driver page that apparently says the only thing different about the cam in the LT2 is the exhaust lobe, intake lobe is apparently the same. The exhaust lobe has more lift. The intake manifold and headers are obviously different and look improved, and the dry sump system is supposedly supposed to reduce frictional loses. So supposedly the LT2 makes 35 more HP from mostly the intake? Main reason I say this is look at the difference in the C7 LT1s and Camaro LT1 headers, the Camaro headers look better but we know the factory ratings for the engines are the same, minus the NPP option, even though I've tested myself the 5hp increase from the Camaro NPP.

Is it possible that the LT2 intake simply be able to be turned 180-degrees and bolted on?
Is it possible it is that simple? Or is there possibly some component in the valley area that is in the way? The cylinder head port offsets don't line up right? I've not had the intake off my LT1, but I know many V-engines you can rotate the intake 180 and it will bolt on... |

Does anyone know if you can loosen the cradle bolts to get a 1/2 inch to sneak that truck intake on. I think once it’s on the engine it will fit without issues

Good video on LT2:
https://youtu.be/6gOSpzQzqf0 GM states the LT2 runners at approx 210mm and that the manifold sits 2-3 inches higher than LT1. Given that the L86 intake can fit on the Camaro... Interesting that the engineers confirm my thoughts on the LT1 intake manifold: plenum volume/cross-section is compromised for the C7 hoodline and the intake manifold is a restriction to the LT1, even from an OEM standpoint. -LT1 runner lengths are approx 185-225mm (2 and 7 are shorter). *Plenum vol.: 11.1L -LT2 runner lengths are approx 210mm *Plenum vol.: 14.1L -Holly Hi-Ram lengths are approx 165mm *Plenum vol.: 9.0L -MSD runner lengths are 178mm *Plenum vol.: 11.22L -L86 runner length? Last edited by Mountain; 07-24-2020 at 02:54 PM. Reason: Added MSD runner length & plenum vol. |
