#15 to original post is most crucial.....never thought of this even though the bike is in already in winter and "storage" mode with the insurance....

I'm going to be in school for the next three months. My only option is driveway with a cover on it...anything in particular I should keep in mind?

Hi! I live in Canada and I'm stoked on finally being able to drive my Cammy more often than not!
My question is kind of opposite to this, basically I want to know how to keep my trusty little Altima going strong over the summer, as I won't be driving him as much, but it'd break my heart of something went wrong. Got me through the winter with no problems, and probably saved my life Basically I was thinking of oil change, good wash, coolant so far. I'm a bit new to the in and outs of cars, I just want to make sure he's still around when it gets cold again! |

1) The worst thing you can do to a stored car is start it up ever couple of weeks. Let it sit ! 2) I always change the oil and filter AFTER winter storage, not before. Again, just my opinion.

I read that carpet pads can absorb moisture and aren't recommended for storage in areas that aren't heated. Seems logical, though I'm not sure how much of a concern it really is. I used 1" insulation foam instead, thinking it would give a better thermal/moisture barrier and cushion to avoid flat spots - though that also seems to be a non-issue for newer tires.

Should windows be all the way up or cracked open for ventilation? The gas tank looks like its plastic. Is that just a plastic cover over a metal tank?
