Do yourself a GIANT favor and get Zaino products and some MICRO FIBER towels and nothing else to dry or detail the car with. Using anything else besides a micro fiber towel, like a towel can actually scratch your car. (DO A SEARCH in the forum for ZAINO.) This post is for the original poster. |

Q: Are Micro-Fiber products safe to use? A: Zaino has been testing various Micro-Fiber products. Unfortunately, the jury is still out on them. Some of them are excellent and do not scratch. Others are terrible and definitely scratch. The quality control of these products from overseas, especially Korea, is not consistent, so you never know if they will be the same scratch-free quality. Even when using the same brand, we found the quality to be inconsistent. For now, we do not recommend using them. However, lab testing is ongoing, and we will post an update when we have more conclusive results. NOTE: If you are already using microfiber towels, look carefully at your paint finish under flourescent light when you are using your towels. If you are not getting any swirls or fine scratches from the microfiber towels, then you are okay and can continue to use them. Remember it's better to be safe than swirly. ------------------------------------------------------------ It's just the quality you buy, a cheap Micro-Fiber or a cheap towel will leave swirls and a good Micro-Fiber and a good towel will not. It needs to be done to get all the waxes off the paint before you start with Zaino. When i had my 90 formula 350 re-painted ,the guy at the body shop told me to use dawn the first time i washed it.We are not talking about using it every time, just the very first time.

What about the paint sealant that the dealer offers when you purchase your car? We got it when we bought our Mustang. We had planned on getting it applied after we had our stripes installed. It's like $825 and they do the paint and treat the interior?

That money would buy ALOT of wax/polish, as well as a HUGE supply of products you could use yourself to keep your car looking great. If you're willing to do the work, invest in a good quality wax/polish, and as for the interior, spend some money of good cleaing/detailing products. |

Zaino is a waste of money. I've used it for years, I was brainwashed by the Vette/Zaino hype. Trust me, it's all viral hype. There are many other great products that are cheaper and more accessible. For instance Black Box is AMAZING.

"Viral hype"? I'll agree with you on the "cheaper"/"more accessible" comment. But for durability, Zaino can't be beat. I won't engage in an argument with you. As I said, you're entitled to your opinion. Even if it is a little "heavy handed". |
