Snap On and Craftsman here. I use to calibrate torque wrenches and found that a simple pointer type wrench was pretty accurate. The higher quality dial types were also accurate. The worst were the clicker types. Some of the accuracy problems stem from the users technique.

Craftsman, the simple pointer type. For what I do it's good enough. And if I ever decide to get headers I'll have my friend do them. And for free. He's been turning wrenches ever since he was little

Precision Instruments makes a split beam torque wrench (previously made them exclusively for snap-on). Excellent quality for half the price (or more) of a snap-on torque wrench. I have two PI split beam torque wrenches (1/2" and 3/8") and love them.
