Flooded trunk. Fusible Link? Replacement?
I wouldn't jump past a fuse, even if it's 100A. Since it sounds like the bolts have welded together, have you thought about replacing the positive terminal?
Check Part Number: 22886822 & 22886823 If you were in NY, I would make a house call, but you're a bit out of my area lol Sent from BLACKOUT using Tapatalk

Yes! A part #! Thank you Kendell347, especially for the house call offer, and all really.
http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-228868.../dp/B00S0J252Y looks like we're on the right track... and I may end up needing this as well, but I don't see the black box that contains the fusible links that hangs off of this. I THINK the part I'm looking for would attach here: ![]() Is there a site that allows you to kind of follow these parts that connect to other parts to track down the actual part I need? Thanks again everyone! -=Matt |

Gasp. I think I've found it:
![]() part # 92229374 http://parts.nalleygmc.com/products/.../92229374.html So $45 or so for a 35 cent part... I can deal with that if it gets me back on the road. ![]() Now my next question, where is the best place to order this part? Does Camaro5 have a 'favorite' dealer to do business with? Or should I just do my research online looking for the best price and give my local dealer a call? Thanks again all! -=Matt |

The gods are truly smiling down on me today.
I went out, re-inspired to try torquing that nut off again, after finding some pliers with a bit wider jaw. First I bent back the plastic box opposite of the hinge: http://i.imgur.com/LMcgPGh.jpg Then put the ratchet on that blasted nut and went at it: http://i.imgur.com/FwH0VZD.jpg At first I'd thought I'd stripped it clean, because it started turning VERY easily. Nope, it was finger loose... it's off! http://i.imgur.com/duU1fKh.jpg And for anyone who wondered what a 100A broken fuse looked like: http://i.imgur.com/S47cTuj.jpg And from the other side: http://i.imgur.com/R8mG7Np.jpg Yikes. -=Matt |

Flooded trunk. Fusible Link? Replacement?
Quote:
Glad to help Matt! Glad to hear you made some awesome progress! As far as parts purchasing you can go anywhere you like...price it out online and see what is most favorable for your wallet. And personally, I would replace anything that looks rusted /corroded and make sure the trunk stays open so you air it out and no mold develops Kendell Sent from BLACKOUT using Tapatalk
