I was a kid growing up with Muscle cars . They handled like crap but they were fast in a straight line . Which is what they were designed for .

Growing up in the late 70's and early 80's I was a garage rat, we lived next to a high performance shop that the guy who owns it was my fathers best friend. I was always around muscle cars and loved the way they sounded and looked. The gauges that were used to keep track of vitals. These newer exotics are impressive in performance but listening to them sitting and idling is somewhat boring. Muscle cars move you when you turn the key. Question is if you turn your car on...does it repay the favor????

Husker67,
I bought a 1969 Road Runner (383) in October of '68. Metallic silver with a black vinyl top, red line tires on the factory mags... I'll never forget what it sounded like idling when my Dad and I came around the corner of the service dept. My Dad looked at me and said "What the hell are you trying to pull?" I knew what I was getting, but he didn't have a clue until that moment. I laughed all the way driving home. When we got home, my Mom looked it over and said, "So, it's a Road Chicken?" Still gives me a chuckle thinking back on those days!
