Some cars are adult driven but not usually a performance car. If you are a decent shade tree mechanic it helps mitigate some of the costs, if not then getting bent over by a garage is sure a possibility. These cars are a PITA for an average guy to work on compared to the other gens. Think blend door, AFM delete, leaking cores, etc. And folks usually don't buy a V8 Camaro and baby it for the next guy. But if you find a low miles cream puff go for it.

I love my V6 but I would not put any money into it to make it faster; it’s meant to be driven and enjoyed as is. If you want more performance and you’ve always wanted a V8, then get yourself a nice 2SS. Not even a decision in my opinion.

What are you priorities? If you want performance, get the V8. If you're looking to do appearance mods, consider holding on to your car. You already know the history of your car so it's nice knowing that. The V8 has a big performance aftermarket so there's no question in getting a V8 if performance is your priority.

I'm against car loans since it's a waste of money. Put the money that you'd be paying towards a new car loan into a Savings account and use it to purchase your vehicle (or at least pay the majority of the new vehicle's cost). Our rides are selling at top dollar right now, but you'll also get hit on the other end during your purchase of another vehicle, so what good is robbing Peter to pay Paul?
As far as v6 vs v8, that's a personal decision. If you like power, it's a no-brainer. If you're more into looks and fuel economy, stick with the 6-banger. My V6 is my daily. I'm getting just under 25 mpg and I've yet to lack any power on the road. Seriously, this thing screams down the highway like it owns the place, so I'm content. |

I took the back seats and panels out to figure out where the leaks are coming from.
