Readable scale on oil dipstick > half an inch long (MONSTER fudge factor).

Right. Gauges on the dash which has number instead of needle between 3 numbers and uneven number of ticks... I never know what those gauges show exactly.

I know, right? How much work would it have been to set the range to 10..18 instead of 9..19, giving us a perfectly readable 1 V per tick instead of 1.25?

Under 10 V is just as bad as 9, so I don't see why GM couldn't use 10 V as the lower bound, and similarly 18 V at the upper end... now we have to run a calculator in our heads to figure out if we're at, say, 12.3 V or 12.6 V...
