Update 5/31: LS9 Block is blueprinted for assembly, 4.065 pistons should drop in just fine. GMPP CNC LS9 Heads have arrived, they are now inspected and disassembled. Off to CNC they go for additional Katech Porting followed by our Competition Valve Job + Blend.

Disassembled Heads. Note: This is the OEM GMPP CNC Port Job shown. Very good quality from GM, but flow will improve even more while maintaining high port velocity with the Katech developed port.

Update 6/4/2019:
Clutch and flywheel look like they have served their life at 52k miles. No damage, probably could be used for awhile longer but I will be replacing it while its out. Katech LS9x Clutch and Billet Aluminum flywheel will be going in. |

Interesting data for you guys:
The core set of heads that I chose to use for my build were factory GMPP CNC LS9 heads. I chose to CNC port these heads using our Katech port to see what would clean up (if any at all). We blue'd the cylinder ports and ran the program. The result showed that the Katech port not only has a better surface finish than the GMPP cylinder heads, but it also cleaned up nearly 80% of the GM CNC'd ports. The Katech ports are larger, and have a better surface finish. Note: This is not the final product, the heads still need to be decked, valve jobbed, and blended. |

I have a lot of the same suspension mods as you except the Bilstiens and Im running DSE rear control arms. I have long tubes installed with a Z28 NPP without resonators and a Corvette X Pipe (king of re-purposing factory parts) sounds awesome. I'm slowly buying my parts for a cam change. Will be following your build from India (new job assignment). An when I can I run NCM in Bowling Green.

I will be running the Katech CNC high volume pump for my build. Since I will be using piston squirters, I will need the increased volume. If I did not have piston squirters, the standard volume variation is more than enough.

Small update, the block has been clearanced for the 4" stroke. I will begin assembling the heads today. I made an update to the rotating assembly, so I am now waiting on a different set of rods and a crank. I chose to go with a crank and rod combination that utilized a 2.000" rod journal instead of the standard 2.100".
