Ive heard of more cars getting jacked in Texas and New York than your 'hilarious' attempt to spell California...

Sad truth is even if these thieves are caught they will be back on the streets in no time.
Courts and jails are packed so many thugs are allowed to run wild. Especially in lib California.

I'm told by an alarm shop that whoever had done this was a professional as few know of the techniques used.. i was told a screwdriver had been used to defeat the factory alarm when they destroyed the door lock mechanism. Apparently they also tried to remove one of my paddle shifters. Through out this process they where interrupted by my neighbor finding them and they got scared off, they returned at least once to try to get the car again. I am told they will most likely be back to finish what they started.. I don't know if I just got lucky because my neighbor stumbled on them keeping it from being taken or if they hit a snag in their attempt due to a few different things I can think of from gm programming to even the fact I have remote start (with its ability to turn on but not shift in gear without a key). All I know is at this point I'm willing to do whatever I can to protect my car as it has a lot of sentimental value to me. I consider it priceless honestly. At this point i will behaving a viper alarm system installed in two days, I have to get my car locks fixed as well as that alarm so I'll have two active alarms, I also bought a "club", I now have surveillance cameras watching my car that notify me of movement around my car and have night vision and two way audio.

I would like to do, but not 100% sure I can with this car because of the ecm, is add a battery kill switch as well as one for the fuel pump and or starter. As well as a obd lock.
Will this be doable? Where can I find what I need to make this happen?

Is there any better methods I can do that I just haven't heard of?

I haven't been able to even find anything online mentioning this happening so I'm not to sure what to do..
Found this on Craigslist: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/6134954154.html

Now that's nice. I made one similar but not quite as stout.

Long story, as of this moment that's not really a viable option unfortunately, I really wish I could. I've even debated building an additional garage at this point.

A couple of the guys also are very willing to help install a kill switch on our cars (Miguel from Napa has done at least two already).

There are plenty of options to help protect your baby, and I'm very happy to hear that you still have it after not one, but two attempts. Obviously the best option is to put it in your garage, but I will point the club in the direction of this thread and let some of the guys who have actually taken the measures can chime in. Feel free to pm me if you need more info.
I'm totally open to all the advice I can get, as well as thankfull, that said I have no idea how to use this forum to its full extent.. i.e. I've got no idea how to send a private message etc..

Already installed one last week and have felt a lot more at ease since. That coupled with a few other additions and I'm thinking I may be safe.. I think, I didn't really realize how common auto thefts are in my area, so now I'll be far more on guard.. thanks for the input, I've heard nothing but good things about the Revelco Anti Theft System!

Will using a battery kill switch mess up my ecm? There's so much computer to everything I just don't want to mess something up without realizing it.. I do want to install one I just don't know enough about the electrical system of this car to just jump in blindly..

Belt fed.. yeah deffinately not in California however you'd be surprised what they do sell around here or at least did.. However doesn't change the fact if I shot someone for trying to steal my car I will be going to jail for quite awhile, no matter how much I may value my car or how pissed I may be at that moment.. Thats where my anger management is supposed to kick in.. lol.

I'm using about $10 in Radio Shack parts to keep my Camaro from being driven away. So far in the two years I've had my home made theft prevention in place, no one I've handed my keys to has been able to start my car.
Yup car is usually gone in a matter of minutes never to be seen again or if it's founds it's stripped. I got very lucky!

Its no different than pulling the negative cable off the battery.
