I feel ya - got mine delivered April 21st with 8 miles, now has 4100. However I did take a 1400 mile roadtrip. Right now I have a hard time putting it to the side, b/c my every day car is a 97 honda civic.
However I still discipline myself by putting it in the garage Tue-Fri.

As others have stated, it is your car and have fun. And only you can define or quantify "fun". Some people enjoy keeping their cars pristine with low mileage. Others like to drive them as much as possible. Nothing wrong with either. For some, 1 mile is too much and for others 100,000 is not enough.

I took my 73 corvette to a local car show today. Yes it was a bit dirty. But heck I drive it. Saw a nice 68 mustang fastback. I smiled when I saw some dirt behind the rear wheels, some papers on the rear seat and leaves on the floor mats. The car was beautifully restored and driven!

Bought mine 4/5 brand new (2.5 months ago) about to hit 8000 miles by the weekend. Op you live one time, drive it like there is no tomorrow thats what I do and love every second of it. My money is too tight to buy something to not use (just my .02)

change it at around the 1000-1500 mile mark just to be safe. Then go on from there every 3000-4000. This is overkill to some but hey, pamper that engine... and, it's kinda fun to do your own oil changes anyway.

I like Royal Purple or Pennzoil platinum better than mobil 1 myself

You're supposed to drive them. We live in the country so a trip to the grocery store is 40 miles round trip. Our Mazda had 40K on it when it was totaled and we'd had it one month short of two years. We took a $875 hit on it because of high mileage, not really that bad in our estimation.
