FBodyFather was there to hand me the keys and I got into it, started it up and...

NOTHING. No roar, no rumble, nothing, nada... zilch.

I looked at Scott with bewildered expression seasoned with dismay and he responded to my gaze with "Well, you wanted the auto, there you go". Then some guy pulled past me pointing and laughing in a silver 2SS LS3 that sounded like it never heard of mufflers or cats.

I woke up very sad, and very worried; contemplating going against my golden rule of never owing a stick as long as I live in L.A.

I am a man torn.
Have you seen the SS start up vid? With as mean as the L99 sounds, I can only imagine how mean the LS3 sounds.

I have seen that vid, but thought is was the LS3 for some reason... no more nightmares for me!! Just dreams about a nice chambered exhaust on that baby.

And I believe the Indy event was before they even really started tuning the exhaust. I do not think GM and Scott will let us down, even us L99 folks. The car is to cool. I heard that some folks that drove the V6 thought it sounded and drove like a V8.

I'm sure the V6 car does sound like the V8. I guess what we're talking about here is how good the V8 sounds.

I have a 2007 CTS...and it really sounds decent at idle...but not loud. But when I crank on it (and I beat it all the time) it sounds like a V8. There is a reason for the dual exhaust on the car. It needs it at over 6000 rpm. So....the bigger displacement high pressure injection V6 has to sound even better than my 2007 CTS.

I ordered a 2SS...but I really question if I really need it other than for the fact that I'm an old fashioned HP freak whether you need it or not. I have no complaints about the performance on my CTS when passing, merging, or doing a burnout. Give me that additional HP of the new V6 in my existing CTS and I'd actually be quite happy. Especially with using regular gas and getting the better fuel milage.

I wish I had the opportunity to drive the new V6 camaro before ordering my 2SS. I might be able to save myself some big bucks...but then I'm dealing with the unknown.

Common sense tells me I should wait for the new camaros to hit the road and test drive both the V6 and V8 before ordering. But being that I'm a HP freak I'm just getting the V8 anyhow. I hope I don't regret it later....I've never ordered any car "blind" before. I havnt seen this color (IOM), or the interior, nor have I driven the different engine options.

Kinda dumb when you come down to it arn't I?

Repease after me...

"I will not regret the V8" about 30 times in your head and everything will be just fine.

What about the video of test car doing donuts and stuff around? That had some good exhaust sounds.

The Zebra car as I call it was a stick and it sounded good too. That video and event also came out before they started working on tuning the exhuast. I think all Camaro owners are going to be pleased. This is GM's comeback car and I think they want to put fear in every Mustang that see's a Camaro sitting next to it.

Has anybody thought how it is that you can't tell if it is a SS from the side? So if you pull up to somebody and they did not see your nose coming they do not know what you could do to them. The old cars had SS side emblems. The new ones do not

I would love a car that sounds like that... that's why I'm getting a chambered exhaust!
