20/10 Implies you have terrific vision when it comes to things in the distance, but proves beyond reasonable doubt that your nearsightedness suffers.

:\ sucks doesn't it?

Really? I don't have any issues with nearsightedness that I'm aware of. Maybe I should get retested.

Holy Cow.... I paid $500 per eye over 10 years ago. The dr performing the surgery was one of the original creators or this type of surgery/procedure. Mine took longer to prep the eye (that metal thing to keep your eye open) - than the entire procedure (3-5 seconds).. The only problem I had was I was allergic to the drops they gave me and my eye lids looked like cobblestone roads on the underneath side when I went back the next day...

Well worth it - if you are a candidate. They didn't recommend the procedure for anyone under the age of 25 though - but things may have changed in the last 10 years too.

I had Lasix done 4 years ago and it is the best! I had one eye done for close-up and the other eye for distance. Couldn't be happier with the results as I had worn glasses since I was a child.

Congrats Joe! I have been think about it for a while, but am a big chicken.

I just paid for the better half's eye surgery. We went to Bochner first, they were very thorough with their examination. They came to the conclusion that she would need PRK rather than Lasik due to how poor her eye sight was (think worse than yours Joe) and the thickness of the lens on her eye. She wasn't very happy with this answer as the recovery time from PRK can be considerably longer. I suggested she get a second opinion, expecting the same answer, but to my surprise Lasik MD in Mississauga/Etobicoke told her, after lengthily testing, that she was a candidate for Lasik. It has been a little over a month and she has 20/25 and is expected to have 20/20 in several months. Lasik MD was about $800 cheaper than Bochner but that really wasn't a consideration in the final decision. Lasik also guarantees 20/20 or its free.

I made this AFTER she had the procedure done
