Around $20 here

Never heard of it here

They won't check them here with a tire rotation unless you know the people.
5)..rest of it is just a eyeball check to placate you!..not necessary!
6)total cost 5,000 mile service..about 30.00 with taxes and disposal fee
Around $50-$60 here :(. That's not even going to the dealerships.
almost forgot!..no lube necessary as it's all sealed underneath at factory nothin' to grease!
no zirk fittings!
to be truthful,if you are paying that kind of money, you got a"bitch" with your state's consumer protection division!

I said the car doesn't call for that, but they said that's what they liked to use. I said fine, so the 5k service was $80. He gave me $10 off, and I had a $25 credit from before so with tax I only paid ~$50.

Question: Are the dealers telling you guys to use a synthetic blend as well?
I use Mobile1 in my car. They should of offered you plain synthetic rather then a blend. Your best bet if you want to run synthetic. Find a small local shop. Ask if he will do the oil change if you give him the oil and filter. Grab some Mobile1 from walmart when it's on sale. This way you are using a full synthetic and aren't getting raped. Some places will let you bring your oil.

Nope. The V6s come with standard oil. But almost everyone here replaces it with synthetic after break-in.

It's about $80 for a Mobil 1 oil change...our cars take a LOT of oil. But it lasts forever if you go by the oil life monitor.

Well, while I would say that you got ripped off... I would have to play devil's advocate here... This is how businesses are ran. They can't do the work for free, so obviously they will slip in the extra fees. That's how life works lol. I, personally, am too cheap to pay someone to do this stuff for me. I rather do it myself... I have the time, and patience to learn. And half the time, I see teenagers who drop out of highschool doing oil changes. So to me getting a "mechanic" or "professional" may not be as "professional" as you'd think. No offense to the actual professionals though lol. But really, give or take, you can learn to do all this yourself... we are all human =p Just need the time and proper tools. =)

I haven't been back to the dealer since delivery day 14 months and 16,000 miles ago.

Mobil1 synthetic at Wal-mart 6 qts. = $28
NAPA Gold filter #7090 = $7

$35 for Mobil1 oil change doing it myself.
Takes less than 30 minutes and I know it's done correctly.

I have had 2 oil changes now and both times I went with the regular. the dealer didn't push anything on me, but I asked about synthetic and they said I could do it if I wanted. I'm schedualed for another oil change in about another month and will probably switch over then. what do you guys use in the winter?
