Not giving up just yet....I'm waiting for a call back from the group sales manager at the Best Western Gainesville which is about 5 miles from the track. I spoke to her today, and she really wants to accommodate us, but we've got to get the rate right. Their rack rate for that weekend is $149/nt!!!! But if I can get them to under $100 for each night....I think that would be a good deal. She is going to speak with her general manager and see what is the best she can do. The Gators are playing Applachian State that weekend, so not a huge draw except for the few coming for Homecoming, but still considered a "special event" weekend.

We will have a host hotel set up by Wednesday at the latest so folks can start booking rooms for Friday/Saturday or both.

I'm good for anyday. Just keep in mind, college towns can get crazy on game days. I'm learning that about Tallahassee/FSU now.

fyi the 20th is Appalachian State not exactly a prime game so the hotels should be open any other day and i would say good luck the town is a mad house for game day I used to live five blocks from the swamp and you really cant drive anywhere on sat.... but im in
