I've used it a few times. Go to GoogleMaps, Find your destination, then click "send" at the top-right corner of the map. Click "car" and enter the "make" and your OnStar username to send it to the car.

When in your car, press the blue phone button and say "virtual advisor". It will ask you if you want to go to your new destination.

I'll still download the App and test it on my 2010. Who knows, maybe it can at least unlock the doors and/or diagnostics.

...correction, i got the same exact email except they were kind enough to leave out the part about "mylink" this stink hopefully theres a cheap and easy way to upgrade! i say 2010 owners should get a complimentary upgrade module heh heh ; D

I don't know why there wouldn't be an upgrade for the 2010's to make them compatible. I would think that it's only software that needs to be changed, unless I'm just totally missing something...

It's been mentioned that it's a hardware issue, Gen 8 vs. Gen 9
