Welcome to the 21st century. Radar and laser is pretty indifferent to color.

As for the picture....thank you so much, that's a great RJT shot! I can't believe how close the color is to my '91 Z/28 vert I had. I'm so stoked.

It's not an urban legend that insurance prices are higher for red cars...

I can't remember ever giving my car's color when getting an insurance quote. But it's been a long time since I got new insurance.

Glad that everyone is liking the photo. It must've just been posted on Photobucket, as I visit there often looking for Camaro pix for photoshop work!

Is that true? I suppose the VIN # must give color to insurance co.

I think in the past red was mostly seen on Porsche's and Vettes, which were more likely to be driven by lead foots, and were probably pulled over more....or pulled over more just so the cop could get a closer look...lol...But now days, red is much more common on all types of vehicles......And I would guess the Victory Red would be much more likely to get cop's attention.

Anyone know if red cars more likely to be stolen? Which could also explain the alleged higher insurance premiums?

It's true. On average, red cars have higher insurance. Some people will argue differently but it's a statistical fact.

The reason for this is that red is more likely to be painted on a sports car with an aggressive driver, so there's a larger number of accidents involving red cars than any other color. This is a proven fact.

If you get a quote for insurance, it will be higher for a red car based on a "typical" driver.

However, if you are a safe driver with a clean record then the insurance company can take this into account and ignore the historical data for red colored cars based on your good record.

But, given the opportunity to rape you (especially in states where insurance is mandatory) the insurance company will typically use this loophole to screw you. It's their business to screw people.

Veeeeeery nice. Still going yellow with the later custom paint job, but this is very nice.

Very nice...again RJT makes the Camaro look classy.

-Anyone know why this color comes at an extra cost?
-If it's not illegal in the states, will orange tail lights be available in the aftermarket? I would agree, the orange looked cool to me since seeing it on the black test car.

That's why it's called RESALE RED ....it was made from a car that went around a pole.

Something to do with the "T" in "RJT". The tint comes from a special clearcoat (so I've heard). I'm not a paint guru so I'm only piecing together what people who claim to know what they are talking about say.
