I went with VR because the first 69 I ever saw was red with white stripes and it just looked awesome. After that, any time I thought about a Camaro I just felt it should be red with white stripes.

My second car was a '76 Nova, Orange with a white top, 305 POS, but still a V8! I have a '67, dark blue W/ runway stripes, my kid has a '99 Z28, dark blue. I went with the IOM, IOM interior & white runway stripes...oh...and the hurst shifter!

Same for me. Had a '70 LS6 Chevelle in Fathom blue, close to IBM. Looked like black at night and in the shade. Sparkled blue in the sun.

Are there any pics of VR with with white stripes? This is the combo I am considering...

My car now is Black Amethyst. In the shade and at night, it looks black, but in the sun it sparkles dark-purple and looks awesome. The same will be true of IBM.

Can't wait for it!

I first ordered the Yellow with Black Stripes SS I have a great dealer with some really good paint an dbody guys that will do it right. But I wanted IBM Because Blue is by far my favorite color.

I went back recently and changed it to IBM with Silver Stripes. and an RS package for the black chrome 20s!

Besides I work for IBM so how about that for goofy!

Why I chose the Color ABM

I chose ABM originally, then changed to IBM, finally changing back to ABM. My first Camaro was a color close to that (ABM) blue, not sure what color of blue it was on the '67 Camaro I had 37 years ago! The earliest pictures of ABM on the website were really not very accurate. I finally saw ABM yesterday on a HHR on a local Chevy lot in pure sunlight and absolutely loved it! In fact I am so glad I changed back to ABM. It is a deep rich metallic blue that, depending on the angle of the sun, changes hues. With white rally stripes, or Hockey and hood stripes, it's gonna be incredible looking on my 2SS/RS. Seeing the ABM really made me even more anxious to see my new Camaro. I am so jazzed about driving it, I can hardly stand it! Guys (and Gals), I am 55, and will probably turn 56 before she gets here, but I'm telling you the level of excitement and anticipation is crazy! So, to you younger enthusiasts, let me just tell you this, exciting is exciting, regardless of age! I can't wait to drive my 'Maro around town and show her off!

white... not too many people are getting it so I will stand out for a little while, at least until dealers start getting normal shipments

I am only getting it because I want it to look like my sig pic... if I had to leave it bone stock with no extra options like stripes and stuff I would probably get red or black

I love orange and yet have never had an orange car, I have looked at so many hugger orange 1st gens at car shows and been so envious, that I must have an orange Camaro. Just like it must be a V8, all my other Camaro's were V6's, it is time for more power.

White - Fleet car boring
IBM - already had several blue camaros
ABM - ditto, but my second choice anyways
Jewel Tint Red - Like it alot, but my wife has a mustang in that color
Red - too cliche - middle age man in red sports car
Black - Love it in the show room, but a 1/4 mile gravel drive rules it out
Yellow - Says girl's car to me
CGM - too many cars these days in the black - grey - white spectrum, I want color
Silver - Ditto, and my last camaro was silver

I ordered black because I want you to see your own facial expression when I pass by, the color of night that comes out of from the foggy shadows to out run you in your high priced sports car. I chose black because I want the same color as the tread I leave in front of you when I steal your girlfriend.... HA HA LOL. Really I just like the color!!!

I never thought a "Why I chose the color I did" thread would evoke so much emotion. We really are passoniate about our car colors aren't we?

Well, I chose black because I think it's the best color, period. Plus, it's going to be a fair weather car, so keeping it clean won't be a problem, and neither will swirls because I'm getting it new.
