I think they should do it, but the price should remain the same.

As Pete said, they have to select a trunklid with no spoiler holes for an LS or LT without RS anyways, so where's the additional cost?

The extra cost is exactly the same as the way it would cost extra to say "I want a 2LT but with steering wheel mounted audio controls" - it would cost more because even though they already have a steering wheel with no audio controls, they would have to review the options more carefully (IE, more codes and more combinations) and then check to make sure the correct wheel was installed after the car was completed. Its like Fbodfather has said before - ANY time you create more combinations, even if the parts are already there, you increase costs.

So, effectively, making a spoiler delete would not only increase the cost of an SS or RS car, but of a non-RS V6 as well.

P.S. - And even if they don't reduce the cost if you delete the spoiler, its still cheaper than having the holes filled.

my thoughts are there will be plenty of LT guys that want the spoiler. Find a trustworthy dude and do a swap.

I also plan on the duck tail one so I really don't care.

This is a valid point.

Yeah but majority of people aren't getting white so that might be kinda difficult and a hassle. The high wing is a dealer installed option right? So hopefully when I get the spoiler, the dealer can deal with the holes and install the new spoiler.

Hopefully. I don't know about the dealers in your area, but those here? I wouldn't count on it.

Well my dad has bought at least 4 chevy trucks over the last 20 yrs or so from the same guy at Connell Chevy. So I guess you could say we kinda have some connections... hopefully I can get it done or at least get some kinda deal on the car.

Spoiler delete would be good for a lot of folks. I don't know the process, but if it were feasible w/out too much inolvement...or even better, if it were less expensive, GO FOR IT

Well, its not that the dealers here wouldn't do it, its just that I would be worried they would fill the holes with chewing gum and dribble paint over it.

Why couldnt you tell the dealer to swap your deck lid off the SS with one without the spoiler right at the lot. And then install the high wing spoiler. It would be 4 bolts and they would have a cheaper model that looks sportier wich would help it sell more. Im not sure about your dealers, but I am sure most would go for it and they prolly wouldnt charge you except for the wing and labor to put it on.

Are dealers going to have cars on the lot that soon? And I am getting stripes which go over the decklid spoiler. So I have to order the car with no stripes or high wing, then when the car gets delivered I have to buy them. If the dealer has cars on the lot (probably not) I could do that. If not I have to get the body work done somehow and then put the stripes and high wing on. See how much of a hassle that is GM? haha

Go with the dealer installed stripes then. They're the same thing as the factory stripes.

Keep the spoiler. That video on Utube of dude that removed an RX7 gen 3 spoiler and put in nitro and the car went airborne. They said because he took off the spoiler. Downforce for the win. More dry and wet traction.
