I hope I don't get anyone in trouble for this but here is the vin from #3. I snapped this Tuesday morning. It is numbered 000003, so you may be on to something, as these are saleable but perhaps not regular production.

BTW, just doing a little VIN decoding to see what I could find out about this car. Here is what I have found so far. First of all, did I read that number correct? Is it 2G1FF1EV0A9000003?
2- Country - Canada G - Manufacturer - General Motors 1 - Vehicle type or manufacturing division - Chevrolet F - Identifies the restrain system - Chevy/GM specific code F - Identifies the series - Camaro 1E - Identifies the body style - Chevy/GM specific code V - Identifies the engine - Chevy/GM specific code 0 - Check digit to verify VIN accuracy A - Identifies the model year - A = 2010 9 - Identifies the assembly plant for the vehicle - Oshawa #1 000003 - Identifies the sequence of the vehicle for production as it rolled off the manufacturers assembly line. Starting with 100001. EDIT: Just found some additional information and updated the above. |

![]() It's not like it was taken within a factory or from 'dealer only' publications. I've waited over 20 years for GM to make a car that I felt was worth buying new and keeping for a long time and I would not do anything to jeapardize their hard work.

100001 is the one being bid on at the B-J auction, right?
if so, that car ain't built yet - the winner of that car gets to build & spec it themselves, so there's no way it even exists yet. that's why it wouldn't be in the system yet. as for 000003, i've got nothin

zebra, the 100001 and so forth cars won't come off the line until 2/16 (or whenever regular production starts. These pre-pro cars (CTF) have to have some identification (e.g. the VIN pictured below). The question is what happens later when those CTF cars are sold? Do the VINs stay the same? Do the VINs not get registered until they are sold? Those are the questions that probably only a GM person could answer.
