Get down and dirty, stick your ear up close to the bottom of the tank...Hear/feel it? Take the cap off, stick a long screwdriver down the hole and put your ear on the end of the screwdriver, what do you hear? Pulling the tank isn't hard, just drain it first Pump replacement is ez too.

Do you have a fuel pressure test gauge? Does the LS1 fuel rail have the fitting like the TPI's did?

I can hear it when I lean down and am back about 2 inches from my gas door. It's like a humming/whinning sound. Hard to tell exactly because of my exhaust how loud it is.

No, I dont have, but need to get a fuel pressure test gauge.

I have no idea regarding your question about the LS1 fuel rail fittings vs the TPI's.

Well, I went to get a couple donuts and took the long way to kind of mess with my car, stop, go, stay at a steady speed, then punch it and see what happens.

First thing I noticed is when I started my car, I did not hear my fuel pump whining/humming. Second, while I was cruising at a steady speed then punching it a few times, it never hesitated. It threw me back in the seat every time. No hesitation whatsoever like it was doing the other day. I'm confused. Is my pump going bad or just a fluke/coincidence that is was making a noise yesterday?

your fuel pump should whine a little regardless.

At this point, just enjoy the car. You changed the filter, and put a tank of fresh gasoline in it, which seems to have it running better. So, IMO, theres no point going ahead and changing the pump at this point.

And like the others have suggested, if you eventually choose to get a new fuel pump, buy new. I only suggested a scrap yard in the chance you found a low mileage, decent Camaro, which met an unfortunate demise.

I did change the filter, as I mentioned.

I still havent put a fresh tank of gas in it. I still have half a tank of gas from the last time I put $10 in it. Don't really have much drivin to do at the moment and don't really feel like driving just to 'waste' gas.

But like you mentioned, I will enjoy my car! I enjoy my car everytime I drive it. How can you not enjoy these cars when you get behind the will?

Did you pull codes? Could be vacuum, EGR, Distributor. Unless your pump fails a pressure test then don't replace it.

No codes at all. The first thing I did after I noticed it is took it straight to my mechanic and had him scan it. No codes were detected.
