We want to provide our customers with realistic numbers. Dyno #s always have some variation, so it isn't necessarily correct to say ours is better than someone claiming 10 HP gains and it works the other way if someone is claiming 15 HP.
We use an average baseline pull to compare against ours. We very easily could post one of the lower stock intake pulls which would make our numbers higher by comparison. Our intake has a very good design and the air box very effectively isolates the filter from engine/radiator heat. Our shorter overall intake length results in less restriction and our plastic tube transfers heat to the inner wall at a much slower rate than an aluminum tube which results in cooler air intake temps. Was this dyno done with the hood open or closed?
